Thread: Do you throw your spare shot differently?

Depends on the spare. 3 or 5 or 8 I throw a strike ball 2 or 4 or 7 I move my feet but throw the ball the same. 6, 9, 10 I move my feet left for the 10 I usually have to change the way I hold the ball and the way I throw.

I need to work on Norm Dukes methods or get myself a spare ball.

    Spares are simple:

Anything in strke ball path (1, 3 5, 8), strike ball.
    ( 4-bucket, 5, 7: hook ball straight down 2nd arrow.
( 6-bucket, 6 , 9 or 10 pin: Straight ball from left side through board 15 - 12. Just flatten wrist and let it roll over index fringer on release)

Unfortunately, simple is not always easy.

I throw hard and straight (one handed) at splits, 6 pins, and 10 pins.

everything else I throw two handed with my spareball.

over the last few months i have started throwing as straight as i can at every single pin leave. i am usually using my hellraiser revenge or my brutal nightmare so the ball still hooks 4-5 boards with me trying to throw it straight but i feel like it takes alot of chance out of it and my spare shooting has got alot better.

I only use my spare ball on 3,6 or 10! I will hold ball palm up and kinda loft it towards the pin making sure my hand is pointing at the pin.

Correction: the second line should read "4-bucket, 4, 7" - rather than "5" - typo (5 pin can be gotten with straight ball down 20 or easy strike ball from 3 boards left adjustment (for right handers)

Single pin spares I just spread fingers and throw it with a flat wrist. If I try to throw my spare ball like my strike ball, I usually miss.

I usually flatten my hand and cock my wrist down a bit, if shooting a 10 pin. That's the only time I'm throwing a spare ball. Otherwise I use the same ball on the opening shot to shoot anything else, with the same release as the opening shot. Just move my feet.
