Default Staying behind the ball seems to have done the trick..

I have been doing a load of whining here on BB about my 10 pin woes of late. I have been leaving a LOAD of ringing 10s and growing more and more frustrated. So, 10 games ago I decided to do as some of you suggested and stay more behind the ball, thereby helping it to get into its roll phase more effectively. Add to that more effort to stay balanced at the foul line and my scores have jumped. My average since the change has been 232.9. I am leaving nowhere near the number of solid tens!

I see it a lot in the league where I bowl. Some of the newer bowlers ofter kind of place the ball on the lane and depending how they releas it, it goes right of left of the mark. Or, it they do stay on line, the all ball does not carry all the pins. I discretely suggest extending the arm all the way to the pins while the hand remains behind the ball the whole time. After a while there is a big increase in accuracy and pin carry.

    2. Never discuss business at the table
    3. Don't ever side with anyone against the family

I just had my friend point out that I had changed my release and I never knew it. He was showing me that i was coming around the ball right at the point of the forward swing and releasing with the top of my hand facing the ceiling. I didn't believe it because it felt fine and my oil track looked normal. All I did was focus on staying behind and under it and what a difference. I could not figure out for 2 months why my scores were not on par and know why plus my thumb is not being chewed up with the weird release I somehow adopted without knowing it. Wish he pointed it sooner but he was afraid he would screw me up and I meaning to do it.

Yeah, I really agree with that for leaving ten pins. I bowl thumbless and it is very easy for me to turn the ball early. When that happens the ball loses its projection. It doesn't conserve energy for the back end. My hand needs to come across the back of the ball from the inside so that it gets projected to the right and stores energy for strong roll on the back end. If I turn it early it's just a dead ball that still has revs, but no stored energy on the back end.
