High rev with high speed (rev/speed match) then heavy oil balls work well. However, it seems the OP is very rev dominant based on the info (which was missing earlier). Also needed to properly suggest a ball is axis tilt and axis rotation. Also, we still don't know what the lane conditions truly are.
Most two handers have high revs with 90° axis rotation. Therefore the bigger the variance in revs and speed given that rotation will dictate how harsh the ball will react.
Speed dominant players or players with low axis rotation can get away with using stronger balls without buring up the energy without covering many boards.
There are pros and cons to every style. Maximizing your pros and minimizing your cons are the key.
Don't get me wrong; I love hooking from over the gutter to the other gutter. It looks awesome. But when money is on the line, my left foot doesn't go across the 20 board.
Maybe the OP can learn to adjust his axis rotation to match the lane conditions better.
