Billf I was thinking for long oil patterns,Sport leagues,Nationals. Also I bowl with some high rev/speed(20mph+)bowlers and I have seen them use Defiant and Lucid and they don't seem to have a problem, though they use 1 hand with and without thumb depending whos bowling.

High rev with high speed (rev/speed match) then heavy oil balls work well. However, it seems the OP is very rev dominant based on the info (which was missing earlier). Also needed to properly suggest a ball is axis tilt and axis rotation. Also, we still don't know what the lane conditions truly are.
Most two handers have high revs with 90° axis rotation. Therefore the bigger the variance in revs and speed given that rotation will dictate how harsh the ball will react.
Speed dominant players or players with low axis rotation can get away with using stronger balls without buring up the energy without covering many boards.
There are pros and cons to every style. Maximizing your pros and minimizing your cons are the key.
Don't get me wrong; I love hooking from over the gutter to the other gutter. It looks awesome. But when money is on the line, my left foot doesn't go across the 20 board.

Maybe the OP can learn to adjust his axis rotation to match the lane conditions better.

Tweak, first of all welcome to the boards. Hopefully we can give you some very useful information that will help you improve your game. Now as to your question, because you are a high rev, lower speed shooter, you need a pearl cover ball with a lower RG. I will refer you to an article in Bowling this Month by Rob Mautner . Here's a part of that article that refers to your question:

"First, the bowler’s arsenal has to take into con- sideration all of the individual factors involved in matching up.
High speed bowlers who are speed domi- nant will need balls with lower RGs and more surface to overcome their speed dominance. I would not expect a high speed, speed domi- nant bowler to have a high RG, polished ball in his bag. It would only waste a space that could be used for something he might use.
Conversely, a speed dominant bowler with a lower ball speed would also need balls with more surface, but higher RGs. Rev dominant players with lower ball speeds would need to have balls with higher RGs and less surface to overcome their rev dominance.
Balanced players would be in the middle ranges of RGs and surfaces, with their overall ball speed determining whether their arsenal tends toward higher RGs (slower speeds) or lower RGs (higher speeds). The balanced player, regardless of ball speed, should have an arsenal that encompasses the widest ranges of RGs and surfaces."

As you can see you fall into the category of "REV DOMINATE/SLOWER SPEED" so the lower RG balls are what would probably work well for you. A pearl ball will allow the ball to skid further down the lane, store more energy and finish hard on the back end. A few that could work, would be Roto Grip Shatter, or the new Motive VenomStrike, Hammer Arson Hybrid, Columbia Mass Eruption, or the Storm IQ Tour Pearl. Good luck and let us know what you decide to do. Any questions just let us know.

Aren't you saying the exact opposite of the article you're quoting?

John, you're right, I had it twisted around.....he should have higher Rg ball's being rev dominate with the slower speed. Thanks for picking up that "aw s__t" !! gotta stop doing this at night !
