Depends what you're looking for in the conditions you're bowling in. It's like saying, which tires are better, summer tires or winter tires?
what is better taking the defiant to 4000 grit or polish ?

the condition i bowl in is drier middle and oilier outside
Are you doing well in the 1st game, then worse in the 2nd & 3rd? What's your ball doing now?

my last game goes down.the defiant kinda dies before it hits
If that's your only ball, then I'd just make a move. If your ball is dying by the 3rd game, sounds like you're hitting some oil, therefore, you probably just need to move to the right. What adjustments are you making with your feet/body from 1st to 3rd game?

Pros move where they have to move, side to side, forward or back not just forward or back.
@kmb197035 the main things I see are.
1-You start out right and move left as the night goes on. (Your following the oil line)
2-my last game goes down.the defiant kinda dies before it hits.
This sounds like the track area of the lane by the 3rd game has dried out and your ball is starting to burn up so is coming in weak. The Defiant is a heavy oil ball, so needs some oil to work properly.
Going to a smoother/polished surface can help with this, but remember this will change the first game reaction also. So be prepared to make adjustments there.
As to what surface to use, the question nobody asked is "What surface are you using now?"
Assuming it's the O.O.B. (3000-grit Abralon) you could go to 4000 see how it does, then if needed add a touch of polish on top of the 4000.
Another option is to move deeper (more toward the 3rd arrow) and play closer to the pocket.
2nd option is to move right and increase speed. Then play a more direct line to the pocket.

You could always take it to 1000-2000 no polish and see if that helps get thru the oil better.
