    Default League Champion Question

Hello guys. Just have a quick questions. In our league, there will be a winner of first half and a winner of 2nd half. Those two team will play each other at the end of the season for 1st and 2nd place. My question is what if a team win both half? what happens? do they get the money of both 1st place and 2nd place?

in our league the first 1/2 is just a roll off (no funds given at that time) then when the final round is played winner takes the funds

If the league didn't address the issue "If the same team wins more than one segment." within the league rules for split seasons at the beginning of the season.

Then all team captains must agree (A 100%) to add a new rule or change an existing rule.

Now change or add what would be the question.

Since first place is "Locked" you maybe could have:

1-whichever teams who are in overall 2nd and 3rd place roll-off for the 2nd place money.

2-have the two teams who were in 2nd each half bowl for the 2nd place money.

3-the 1st place team could bowl against the overall 2nd place team for the grand champion place.

I'm sure theres more way it could go.

We have 4 quarters with a winner each quarter. If the same team wins another quarter the second place team gets a "wild card" shot at the final rolloff. We usually have 5 teams in the rolloff anyway with an additional wild card. Then we do a step ladder finals with team 5 playing team 4, winner playing team 3 and so on until the final match and that winner is the league Champion.

For most leagues a team that wins both haves gets only the first place prize money. One of the best ways to handle the playoff is to have them bowl the last place team since neither team has much at stake. Otherwise the second place team often gets an easy sweep and third or fourth has no chance of moving up.

thanks for the information. I'll have to request the rule sheet and take a look at it.
