what does this balance hole do?

I bought a used ball on ebay and it has a big balance hole.

I guess the pin under the ring finger makes the ball break more and earlier
Does the hole make the ball break more?

Good Lord that hole is huge lol
Looks like it's pretty close to the PAP in which case it would have little to no effect on ball reaction and was just to make the weights legal.

Looks way too big. Holy bejeezus! But it ultimately depends on where your pap is in relation to the hole. more than likely close to pap and more than likely will have little effect. Of course it depends on where your pap is located on the ball.

Its supposed to be a 15 pound ball. But after the hole its only 14 pounds.
