    Default Oil Patterns? Will Somone help me understand Oil Patterns?

    Hey I am new to a hook ball its fingertip drilled I just got the thumb slug haven't tried that out yet I been bowling with it for 2 years minus one cause last winter not this past winter but the winter before I didn't bowl cause couldn't get a team together me and mom wanted to get a team of people we knew to bowl with us unfortunately it didn't work out quite that way but anway to get back on topic here I am trying to understand oil patterns would someone please explain oil patterns to me and how would I know what lane conditions are and what does oil patterns do to roll the ball down the alley what condtions do you want whichs conditions are good and which ones aren't so good. thanks for the help.

    There's a lot to the subject of oil patterns and understanding them.

    I would say start here with some basic info:

    USBC Lane Play Chapter 8

    Right handed Stroker, high track ,about 13 degree axis tilt. PAP is located 5 9/16” over 1 3/4” up.Speed ave. about 14 mph at the pins. Medium rev’s.High Game 300, High series 798
