Thread: need some help for PBA experience league

Default need some help for PBA experience league

I'm bowling in a PBA Experience league (and probably some tournaments) this summer and using it as an excuse to get some new balls.

    What I have:
Storm Fast (rarely used, for fun/practice)
    Storm Frantic
    Storm Reign Supreme

    What I'm getting soon:
Columbia Enigma (need/want a heavy oil ball)
Columbia Vow (want a stronger pearl than my Fast)

    1. Do I need something between the Enigma and Vow or would the RS take care of that gap?
    2. Which Columbia ball would fit right there? I'm thinking either Omen, Encounter, or Dark Encounter? (also open to other EBI stuff)
Regardless of the answer to #1, I'm still curious about #2

I can give my measurements and basic layouts if needed, but I wanted to keep this simple.

Enigma,VOW,Rein Supreme and Frantic should meet the needs of the PBA style league. Encounter is good fit or you could go Hy-Road or Crossroads if still on the market. You can adjust the coverstocks to suit your other bowling needs as they arise in the PBA league.

Ok thanks. I probably need to add some surface to the Reign Supreme or have it redrilled pin down. It goes a bit longer than I'd like, at least in oil.

ooh great, thanks for that. I had seen the older how-to videos from 2009 but those newer ones are better.

I also just found this, good info for sport bowling in general (PBA Experience Orientation ): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i5ReB7KbMPQ

As long as we're discussing bowling balls for the PBA patterns, how do these ones line up for the PBA patterns:

Storm Anarchy (drilled to go long), Brunswick Inferno (early roll), Brunswick Goliath (between the other two), Columbia Pearl Beast (goes long with hard snap at end), T-Zone (spare ball/strike ball on short/dry patterns)

I'm hoping they'll work out because I'm not buying anything new!

That youtube video on the different patterns was very helpful. I liked that. Now I just have to find an experience league for me to join!

I picked up the Enigma yesterday (they had to order the Vow). The lanes I tried it on must have been dry in the front because it was hitting really light unless I lofted it (a lot) or threw it really hard.

I had the shop put some surface on the Fast to make it not so snappy. I should have done that a long time ago. I think it's my favorite ball now.
