    Cool Salute to the Military

I looked around a little bit and didn't see an existing thread. First off wanted to say thank you to everyone else who has served and if willing post your service so everyone knows you served!

Myself, I am going on 8 Years in the U.S Coast Guard. Current plan is to be a lifer.

Again thank you to everyone else who has or is serving!

U.S. Army, 18Z30 planned to do 30 years but instead was injured during the first Gulf War so I didn't re-enlist. Turned down a huge bonus and another stripe to be a full-time dad. I miss it but it was the correct decision.

I started life as a sailor November 5, 1965 at Great Lakes boot camp. Went to Memphis, Tennesee to a Navy A school to learn aircraft hydraulic systems maintenance in January of '66. June 6, 1966 I was sent to Corpus Christi, Texas to be a member of Navy squadron
VT-29 until October 2, 1969 when I checked out to be a civilian. Had some great times there and great friends. I was from the north so I did love the warm weather down there and the southern gals.
