Default 600 Series with no sleep till BROOKLYN!!!

Last night the lanes were crazy dry, it seemed. I used my weakest ball (aside from my spare ball), and still wasn't able to get it down the lane far enough to get it in the pocket. It kept coming in high. But I was picking up the spares and that's good...

But one of the guys we were bowling against has the highest average in our league (I'm sporting the 2nd highest average... Just to brag a little! hahaha), and he was struggling with it too. So I gave up!

One thing I try to work on is different angles. So I decided to shoot brooklyn. It worked for a while! Third game the lines changed again, and I went back into the pocket, but threw it a little harder.

In either case, I had a 611 series, which I consider a good series.

Anyone ever get to that point? Anyone ever have success intentionally shooting brooklyn on your strike ball? Is this just a horrible idea?

It was actually kinda fun... A little less room for error, but at the same time, it's a different shot, and trying to get the angle right was also causing me to slow down the ball a bit and change my line. But I enjoyed it, none the less!

    Thoughts?

I had a 270 game last season. The 3rd and 5th frames hit the pocket so I had to pick up the spares. All the rest were brooklyn strikes. They were falling so I wasn't changing a thing plus it really pissed off the guy I was going against.

I enjoy it when I do it intentionally. Not so much when it's accidental.

Hahahahahaha. You're right, Bill! That was part of the beauty of it! I firmly believe you have to have the right angle if you're going to try to throw brooklyn, so I changed my hand a bit to get that angle.

The guy on the other team is really a good bowler, and a very nice guy. We were talking a bit and laughing. I told him I was going to try to go brooklyn around the 7th frame of the first game, he was like, "Yeah sure... Go ahead." It was funny. Everytime I got a strike he kinda laughed it off. We all had to laugh to keep from crying... hahaha.

I can see how it could **** some people off, but hey.... It's COMPLETELY legal! Just gotta knock them down, it doesn't say you have to aim for the pocket every time! It sure did leave quite a few 10 pins though... Thankfully, my percentages on 10 pins is MUCH MUCH higher than it once was, or it could have been a nightmare night!
