    Default my girls form!

    hi!

here some shots of ma girlfriend her form..

she suffered a broken wrist this year
so she is bowling with a brace for the first time...
it keeps her hand steady in release... so works good..

we worked on the balence arm.. it is now more in front instead of side... it helps her to keep a looser swing and higher backswing..
and more speed in comparisson to the whole last year..

hope you guys have more tips to work with...
i would like to get some drills to get the upper body in a better line with the backswing at last few steps and release!

    thnx!

Is that a compilation of her best shots? Or was that just a string of really good shots?

Ok, just wanted to make sure before commenting.

She's bringing the ball behind her back instead of just swinging straight back, which I'm not a big fan of. Also some drift with that last step. I feel like those two things could lead to inconsistencies in nights.

On the bright side, she was extremely consistent in those shots. Seems like the exact same shot over and over. Great repetition.

Overall what we saw looks good. Straightening out that backswing will help greatly. The torso rotation will help with that as it will allow the shoulder to come back at a different angle.

I am no professiona (and I don't portray one on TV either), but I do "no-step" and "one-step" drills:

No-step: Assume final slide position. with ball at side, swing slight forward back and forward relesing the ball. Note hips and sholders remain square to the foul line with upright torso.

One-Step: From standing position bending forward slighty at the hips, with ball at side, easy swing forward and back. As ball returns reaches back position extend balance arm. Allow ball to swing forward and slide into final positiion releasing ball. You don't care where the ball goes, check for low, square hips, square shoulders and upright torso. - Again you don't care about the ball reaction here (although you will notice an improved reaction), you want to lock in a solid finish position.

These drills are also good for swing improvement.

At least they work for me.

    Your resultes may vary.

Only concern was what bill et all pointed out, backswing doesn't stay in line with the head.

Straightening that out will help both consistency and energy transfer

Dave, I think she's got very good form. She was a little off balance on those first couple of shots, but the rest she was right on the money. She does come around her bak a bit, so she could work on straightening that out and the 'only' other thing I see would be to have just a bit deeper knee bend at the line. Shooting those kinds of score, you need to pony up some money and get that girl in some money tournaments. Could be a good way to make some extra cash (that's if she gives you any of her winnings ! LOL)

    Thnx!!!

So today we start training with some drills...

    - 1 step drill... last step.. keeping right footh on ground.
    - during start.. more through knees, move upperbody lil more forward over the ball.. en to the right...
    - straighten out arm in pushaway.. an keep it straight during swing.

looks good.. do going to throw some hours in it....

then we go work on release... to keep the hand behind and more under the ball.. cause her release is on top of the ball..
    made a clip today!

Overall much better. Arm still goes slightly behind her back but better than before. The side view was AWESOME!!!
Actually, if it's alright I would like to save it to show the girls what I expect their side view to look like.
