Thread: First night of winter league

Default First night of winter league

So a few things changed that kinda suck. Our fees are the same but the price the alley gets went up. So to keep our price the same they are now taking the money from 50/50 to go to the prize fund. This used to go to fun night at the end of the season. Now if we want to bowl fun night it's going to be $24, were as it used to be free. So i think there pretty much gonna do away with it. But overall i had a good time, i missed bowling leagues, it's just not the same without the competitive atmosphere for me. Shot pretty well too 211-196-233=640(189 avg). The wife had a good night too 94-115-89=298(96 avg).

ive been hearing a lot about leagues cutting things or raising fees. Pretty unfortunate to say the least. Oh well at least you and your wife had a good session

Thanks! I'm glad our weekly fees didn't go up but now I just don't see many people bowling in fun night. That was always a good time, but most people are not going to want to spend $24, or can't, just to bowl fun night. That kinda takes the fun out of it if you ask me lol

Same thing happened to a bunch of our leagues in town. My Friday night did not go up in price, but the lane fees did, so now we have to tap into the prize funding and 50/50 to make up the difference. We also had one of the bowling houses just plan refuse to allow league play this year. Don't know why, they just said no, so a bunch of teams are having to scramble just to find a house. My Sunday league is now a Tuesday night league, and the price went up $3 per night to cover the new house cost.

....And we wonder why there has been a drop off in league numbers of the past few years....

Yea....some bowling centers are weird. The owner of one of the centers has been heard saying he doesn't need our league (even though it guarantees a full house for 3 nights a week for half the year), and then went and tried to get the friday night league to move from the other center to his.....
