My Reign On Layout: 70 degrees x 5" X 2" (30 degrees)

When the Reign On was announced I was pretty excited to drill one up. I really liked what the Reign of Power gave me for a look on under/over house shots but especially at the 2013 Nationals in the team event. I felt like I had the whole lane with the Reign of Power.

My favorite attribute of the Reign of Power is it's smooth reaction and the fact that it doesn't immediately react to the dry and overhook or stop. As much as I like that reaction at times on under/over house conditions it's not always ideal. The Reign On will give me an option when the Reign of Power is just too smooth and need a little extra reation downlane. By comparison I would say the Reign On gives me 3 to 4 more boards of backend when compared to a similarly layed out Reign of Power.

Admittedly I have not used the Reign On as much as I would have liked the last month plus because the Byte has dominated my ball selection during that time. However, I have switched to the Reign On a couple of times later in the block when I had only the 55 degree Byte and it became too angular for me and couldn't stop leaving a 9-pin with it. The Reign On allowed me to move just a couple boards left and smooth out the reaction enough to finish the set.

Conditions I have used the Reign On on: I have preferred my ball reaction with the Reign On on AMF lane surfaces. I have used the Reign On on three different house shots/lengths on AMF HPL versus the couple of times I have tried it on Brunswick Pro Anvilane with a 43' house shot. However, keep in mind this is with a 70 degree x 5" layout, I have just drilled a new Reign On with a pin-down 55 degree x 4 1/4" layout which should work better on longer pattern/harder lane surface. I haven't had a chance to try this layout on the Brunswick surface yet but I will this week and will report back the results.

I have however tried the new layout on a 43' medium-heavy sport shot over the weekend and the ball handled the length and volume very well so I expect good results.

Where the Reign On fits in my bag: The Reign On is in between my Marvel-S/Reign of Power and my IQ Tour Pearl.

When I use the Reign On: I would use the Reign On when my Marvel-S or Reign of Power are too much ball (too early or just not finishing through the pins) but there's a little too much oil for my IQ Tour Pearl.
