I was bowling group session last night and was having problems finding the Jersey Side of the pins. There was a second coach at the session and he asked me to point my toes diagonally at my mark instead of straight ahead. I m still to walk my board to the foul line. He explained that by pointing at and walking a straight board to the line causes me to have to change direction and slide, reaching outside to get the ball over my mark (third arrow in this case). By opening up the front in stance and remaining open throughout the walk the line I want is naturally available to me with no extra effort, also allowing the ball to go deeper into that line.

I tried it. Bingo! right in the pocket with full effect. -Who'd-a-thunked it?

I recall hearing something like this before but for some reason did not understand what it meant. I did not realize how dark it was in here until someone turned on the light.

I always find it interesting that you can hear the words and yet not understand what they mean. More interesting is that you have no idea that you don't understand it until you do. (pardon the double talk).

A big shout out to the effective teachers who have the gift of communication and can break though this misunderstanding barrier.
