Default Final thoughts on my Radical Slant HD

    P.O.S.

Well it split in half, It didn't even have 30 games on it. It was sitting in a cushioned chair in my computer room, no temperature fluctuations etc. and it split in half.

Well at least all I had in it was the cost of getting it drilled, inserts and then getting the cracked out finger holes fixed .

Wow I just found out over on bowling chat , It was my fault , I set the ball in a chair and the chemicals in upholstery and carpets cause balls to crack!

Chairs ARE the natural enemy of the bowling ball in the wild. Ever notice all those STOOLS at your local alley? NOT a coincidence people.....

But I sit in chairs all day and my clothes are just fine! The solution I think is to buy a denim bowling ball. Khaki for spares.

    To a point I was.

But seriously over in bowlingchat they say the causes of cracking could be.

prolong contact with the chemicals in upholstery and carpets.

Gravity by just letting the balls sit for a long time.

    A crappy plug job.

environmental causal factors (hot cold etc.)

    Fun fact:
I have a original Faball Burgundy Hammer(a urethane ball) I got back when I first started bowling (like 20 years ago . It's been plugged, had many many inserts glued in over the years, it's baked in the car all day and froze through the night many season in the past. It's sat unmoved for a few years in a bag on a concrete floor and guess what? Not one crack.

"OH, well thats a urethane ball" you say.

I have also had the Black Offset tour Hammer (a reactive), it went through the same thing. Not one crack.

Why? the older balls were made of stronger materials.

Todays ball are made from weaker, highly porous materials. that's why they crack.

I like also how they say that ball can be fixed, that I can plug that foot long crack. Maybe you can, why bother?
