    Looked to me like the "wake" was really just the reflection of the ball on an uneven lane surface.

    That thought crossed my mind too, but the "wake" ripples narrower and wider and the surfaces are not that uneven! Bowling balls don't do that.

    Any experts out there, I think personally, that its the actual wake of the ball going through the oil? Uneven what??? I hope most lanes are not uneven, or maybe I am missing something here... Its looks like what a ball does to the oil, and maybe why it changes while we are bowling.. What do I know, (Iceman), I just a super hero with keen eye sight?

    I dunno, I agree with you Iceman that that's what it looks like. But it seems almost like they're pushing too much oil around. Seems like it would be a lot tougher to make adjustments if that much oil is getting pushed around. But who knows....I'm not an expert....could be the oil, could be an optical illusion.
