If I had to choose between solid or pear bowling balls, my preference is definitely solid ones. I bowl tournaments just about every weekend in the Northeast, and I am finding a need to use pearl balls more and more. One of my favorites over the past year was the Storm Fringe, and the Freak’n Frantic is here to take it place.

When the patterns are too short, or contain less volume, and when my solid ball {either the IQ Tour or Marvel S} starts to spend too much energy early, I know it is time to ball down and the Freak’n Frantic is a good choice to have in my bag. The need to ball down seems to be happening more often and faster lately. What is very nice about the Freak’n Frantic is I don’t have to work at all to get it through the heads, and the ball bounces at the end of the pattern, and makes a very nice strong move toward the pocket. The hard move the ball makes in the backend explodes the pins into the pit, or tosses them around the deck like lawn chairs sitting outside in a hurricane.

This ball has been out for over 3 months now, and to be honest I haven’t seen many people using it in my travels. Please don’t let that fool you because I feel the Freak’n Frantic is a sleeper ball, and it is a great value especially for its price point. Give yourself more options by putting the Freak’n Frantic in your bag.
