hahaah in my league a few guys dress up every week from cowboys to business men to hippies. Maybe its part of their secret plan cuz their costumes combined with their comedic remarks to each other always screws up my bowling from laughing so hard.
First night of winter league is here! Our first 4 person mixed game is this upcoming Friday and you would think that I would have my team together this weekend polishing up our games, making sure we all have our schedules set and our gear in top shape. But Noooooooooo...we are trying to figure out what bowling shirt colors work best with our collective complexions, seriously!
Fortunately, I have another 2 man team that I am also bowling on, and it is just me and my buddy, so I guess I will at least have one 'normal' league this year :-)
Just as a parting though, one of the team members said the other day...'well, I should be able to bowl around 100, so as long as we look good, that should be O.K...' If not anything, at least our team will be good for comic relief.

Don't forget....it's usually the teams that don't take themselves seriously that have the most fun.
Well, the good news is that we went with Harley Davidson colors, Black and Orange...or maybe that's Halloween...we are all going to look like pumpkins...
We finally did get a chance to talk a little about our season.....so far one team mate has a ball he has had since 1987, his wife is still using a house ball, half the team still does not have their own shoes-----this is going to be BRUTAL!!!
It's just for fun right???
GoodGravy...what I see here is lots and lots of opportunity. Where to begin????
Distractions...will make you focus, focus, focus
Beginner bowlers...opportunity for sharing, assisting, teaching - if they want it, and normally, everyone usually likes to get better
Great opportunity for improvement, good chance of winning
AND, you're gonna LOOK like the GREAT PUMPKIN PATCH!!!! (lol)
Relax, have fun and then bowl your best when you are on the lane, the more you fret about it, the worse it's going to be....(first hand experience speaking here!)

That's hilarious!
My wife and I returned to league bowling last week after a LONG break.
The couple we are bowling with is a lot of fun. I coach travel baseball - my son and their son have been team mates the past 3 years. They joked around with me about holding team practices if they bowl bad.
I never took mix league bowling seriously. I always try to bowl my very best but I don't care if we win or lose.
Love that team name!!!
Our 5 man team is "Oddballs"....
We have the old guy who bowls three times a week and works at another lane.
A 190 avg bowler and his wife (who throws a backup ball)
My hubby (who has a 157 avg) and me - who's a newly converted lefty...
Odd about sums it up!
