One of the better nights for Sunday league.

Better carry. Made all my makable spares. And thats how you bowl a good score.

Had already switched to the Endeavor early in Game 1. After a decent shot left me a left-side bucket, I switched to the Fireball. Unfortunately, shot-making was inconsistent. But, it was opening in the 10th that really hurt me.

Switched to the Force Pearl and things improved.

Wednesday Night Established Men's League

Week 4

A lot of horrible shots. After leaving a pocket 10-pin in the 3rd frame, I moved to the Endeavor. Pulled 3-5 shots and pushed at least one right.

Pretty easy to see how this game fell apart. FIVE pocket 10s and a pocket 7. Just couldn't carry and could not make spares. Abysmal.

Bowled better this game. But, I could have salvaged a decent game if it weren't for a 4-6-7 split in the 10th.

Week 6

Bowling against my team captain's (Wednesday men's league) team, so a little more pressure to do well.

540 Series: 202-159-179

Nice split conversion in the 3rd on a 6-7. But, after a pocket 10-pin in the 9th (that I missed), I switched to the Endeavor.

Left a pocket 10-pin in the 7th and switched to the Force Pearl. Struggled with carry again.

Just bad. Bad spare shooting, bad carry, bad shots. Was nice to strike out and salvage a score just above my average, but couldn't find a consistent line.

Wednesday Night Established Men's League

Week 5

The only thing I can say for tonight is....I 'probably' can't do any worse than I did last week (468). Probably...

Not "horrible"...mainly just got screwed in the 1st and 10th frames.

Abysmal. Just unable to strike. I don't know. Lots of nice, pocket hits and not much to show for it!

Bowled better and helped the team take a 3rd point (won 3 out of 4).

Not much to say. Just need to improve my shot. Two bowlers next to me almost bowled 300s, so there must be some way to master these lanes. I just haven't figured them out yet.

Week 7

The Danger Zone was doing great in warm-ups, but after going through the nose on shot 1, moving left, and then leaving a flat 10 on shot 2....; it was an all too frustrating yet familiar event...where every night is a battle to keep the ball right of the headpin without pushing it too far and leaving a 2-pin/combo. Fortunately I ran a few together at the end to at least salvage a 170+ game.

Just insanity...absolute insanity. Just, spending the whole game make 1:2 and 1:1 moves left. Finally, after leaving a stone 8 on a near-perfect shot...it was time to try and at least have one good game with the Force Pearl. A whole game: one strike. Drunk teenagers with the lights off throwing the ball between their legs could get at least TWO strikes. I mean, come on!!

More of the same. Constantly moving left, trying to find oil. Add in spare shooting that collapsed and it was a poo-cherry on a poo-sundae.

The night started out looking good. My warm-ups were excellent. We were bowling on the pair I shot my highest sanctioned score. And we were bowling a team where I was sorta confident that I could be the best player of the two teams. Then...nothing worked. Shots looked good, felt good...everything seemed fine. But, there just wasn't a line...all night.

And on top of that, our new player spent the whole night sulking because we were bowling against a USBC local committee guy and he noticed that our player wasn't using all the holes drilled on the ball. So, our guy spent the majority of the night griping about it. And, I get his point...its a mew player who averages around 120. However, the sport has rules and its a sanctioned league and I get it. I told a guy a couple seasons back that he couldn't use a ball that was cracked (like, a lot...all the way around the ball) and he kept using it the whole season. I figured I'd give em till the following season before I said anything. But, with that guy...was was a 180 average bowler. He shoulda known better and have more respect for the rules. A kid that just joined a league and averages 100-120...not a "big whoop".
