Bowled against a team that didn't show...but we probably lost 3 out of 4.

Week 8

538 Series: 146-181-211

Felt like I was throwing a good ball, but just couldn't carry and then got penalized with three unnameable splits in a row.

Moved to the Fireball....took a couple shots to get re-aligned...then two unnameable splits in the 8th and 9th to ruin things.

Moved to the Fortera Exile...was able to make some good shots...but also started making a couple bad ones.

- Showed some improvement over last week and the week before.

- Still nowhere near where my average should be.
- I can't score well if I'm leaving 5 splits every night.

Still really want this slump to end.

Wednesday Night Established Men's League

Week 8

Played another good team...couldn't believe that we only got like 9 pins of handicap per game. So, this was gonna be a tough night.

543 Series: 201-160-182

X, X, X, 7 /, 8 /, X, 7 /, S7 2, X, 9 / X.
Wasn't terribly upset with my performance. My only open was on a split in the 8th. Just had trouble running strikes together after the first few games.

S8 -, X, 9 /, X, 6 3, X, , 7 /, X, 9 -, 9 / 6.
After leaving a 2-10 in the 1st frame, I switched to the Ebonite Fireball. But, just couldn't get lined up on one of the lanes. A terrible game.

Switched to the Fortera Exile for Game 3, but still struggled to run strikes together.

- Overall, the stats were slightly improved.
- Was a split away from a clean game in Game 1.
- Marked in all my 10th frames.

- Can't score very well if you can't run strikes together.

Frustrating that I'm still mired in this 180s slump...but it wasn't "terrible".

Sunday Night Established Mixed League

Bowled against a team where we got very little handicap...which is abnormal given we have a 100 and 70 average bowler on our roster. So, on the one hand..I was relaxed that there wasn't a high average bowler on their team...but on the other hand....the pressure was on me given that I was clearly the highest average bowler on the pair.

Week 9

649 Series: 246 (clean)-222-181

Felt great. Got a couple breaks...but it was a solid start to the night.

Stuck with the Black Widow Hybrid 2.0 (BWH)...almost had a second clean game...but couldn't convert the baby split in the 7th.

Moved to the Fortera Exile in the 2nd frame...but was starting to make bad shots.

- Picked up 100% of my spares...I'm very happy about that.
- Only left 10-pins...which I think is indicative that I was throwing a decent ball.
- Love the clean game.
- The 246 is my 2nd highest game thus far this season...in either league.

Negatives
- Still leaving too many splits.
- The mystery score was a 241. I swear, I'm never gonna hit that dang mystery score!!

Thankful for a decent night after weeks of being in a slump.

Wednesday Night Established Men's League

Week 9

I almost stayed home. Not to get into a bunch of "life issues"...but I've been on disability since 9/24 and recently got a denial from the disability folks so I was just depressed and feeling like the sky is falling. I had like $7 in my wallet and only $80 in my bank account. But, my therapist wanted me to keep bowling...and going to church...so I have some contact with other people and don't get too isolated. So, I went...but I figured I'd bowl like POO given where my mind was going to be all night. Had to put the league dues on the credit card and barely had enough cash to get in the 50/50s, strike pool, and card game.

718 Series: 214 (clean) - 290 (clean) -214

I was happy with the clean game...especially given where my mind was. Pulled a few shots and threw one well right...but was making my spares.

9 /, X, X, X, X, X, X, X, X, XXX.
First frame it was clear that the line had transitioned just a little bit and I needed to make a 1:1 move left. Fortunately the 4-pin fell late or it would have been a 4-9 split. Obviously....happy with the result. Had to get lucky on a couple high hits...but everything was just dialed in with the Black Widow Hybrid 2.0 (BWH). It moves a little later than I'm used to with the slightly higher RG...but saving that movement until the end (even though it makes me nervous) seems to give it the needed carry.

Stuck with the BWH...my team would have murdered me if I switched balls after 11 in a row. I did make a slight 1:1 move left after the 2nd frame...which is something I generally do in the rare events where I throw 12 straight strikes...the thought process being...by then, your line has got to be about to transition. 4th and 6th frames I missed way right. Pulled the shot badly in the 7th. Again, got a couple lucky carries on a couple high hits...but mainly I just wanted a clean series and a 700+. Was one frame away from the clean series...thought I threw my highest sanctioned series...but later realized it was 3 pins shy of eclipsing that mark. Oh well, still a good night.

Negatives
- Missed my first clean series by just ONE frame!
- Missed my first 300 by one frame.
- Missed my highest sanctioned series buy 3 pins.
- Kinda felt bad for the other team. I know it can be quite a "gut punch" to have an opponent bowl 110 pins over their average.
- Even though I won one of the mystery scores, it was split between 3 bowlers that all bowled a 214...so it was only $16.

Hopefully this is a dramatic end to my slump.
