Thread: I love bowling!!

    Default I love bowling!!

As I posted in a previous thread I was on the DL for over two months after breast cancer surgery and prior to that was limited to one night a week of bowling. I've been back at it for a couple of weeks. I love it!! And, to be bowling with little or no pain is absolute heaven!!

I am going to try to keep this feeling going. Zen Bowling. So what if I miss a spare or two (or three or four,) or am not hitting my spot, or can't buy a strike. I'm out there on the lanes and having fun. That's what it's all about. (At least that's what I'm going to keep telling the competetive side of me.)

I bowled two games Friday night and it felt great! My scores were 166 and 169. I was hitting around the pocket a lot but was leaving mostly single pin spares so I got to practice my spares. I worked hard for the 166 and 169 but it was awesome. I feel like I'm on the verge of reaching the next level in scoring by really concentrating on picking up spares and having a "system" for it.

My husband had an off night so we went to the Asher/Baker Clinic on Saturday. I sat it out because I was feeling really good about my bowling and wanted my husband to have his time. I endend up speaking with a super nice bowler who generously shared loads of knowledge with me while my husband had a great clinic. My husband bought Mark's book and had him sign it to me. So sweet! I'm truly blessed!!

DOHT! So there goes me hooking up with a single bowler named "Bunny". Fantasy now officially RUINED!

But Bunny...in a purely platonic fashion...we should get together and bowl some time simply because we're literally 7 miles from each other. I've tried to challenge E-tank...but either he's too afraid to sport me 63 pins handicap...or he doesn't have a car and can't meet me halfway between Corona and San Diego.

    Actually...I'd need you to sport me about 32 pins handicap...even though you're a girl...your consistent 165-170 games would crush me. : )

As for taking 4 years (and some change) off of bowling in a league, I am so happy to be back.
Having just graduating college and getting my first salary job, I can actually join leagues again! (And also blow some cash on new equipment!)

    So Pumped!

Congratulations on graduating!! All 3 of my boys graduated from college/universities. One in law enforcement, one a sales rep pharmaceuticals, and the last one a Teacher! I have two of them bowling on league with me for the First time!! They are new to the sport, but are active in many other sports. They seem to enjoy it very much! TIME TO UNWIND Zaxmazr..... have a blast!! You've earned it!!
