I find myself wanting to jump into the marketing of it all, but I just can't keep up with all the new releases.

Yeah, that's why it's a good time to wait until your ball completely dies.
Because usually when you jump and buy a new ball, BAM, various new ones come out. Instant regret.
But then again, this is like ever other piece of technology today

I was talking to a Bronze coach and my pro the other day about this. He has a lot of people that come in complaining about how their ball has died and nothing seems to bring it back.

Both of them have told me that they know of numerous people who will refinish a brand new ball to OOB before even throwing it. The whole argument behind it is that no matter how hard you try, you'll never be able to replicate what the manufacturer did. We just don't have access to that type of equipment. You can get close, but it will never be exact. If we refinish from the start, we know it can be repeated.

It's a pretty valid argument. Are the balls dying or is it that the "factory finish" that we've grown so used to completely gone and nothing will get it back to where it was?
