So...without knowing you...I'm guessing you grew up in the holes of Sterling Heights/Novi/Macomb....went to school at Central Michigan University...?? Correct? Yeah, those are all "holes"...except for Mt. Pleasant...which is a college town in the middle of nowhere...which tend to be rather cool towns. Thats why the west coast of the state is so nice. It used to just be college towns in Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo before the tech and pharma industries went out there...towns like that (Ann Arbor 15-25 years ago) tend to be nice towns. Constant influx of money from students, university, and visitors...relatively low crime and industry.
