Those tips are so simple, but so perfect. Everything you described, I have trouble with. I will definitely put these tips into play next time I'm at the lanes.

Boys, I've fallen into a slump so bad that no amount of alcohol can wash away the stench!! lol. My avg is 40 pins from this time last year in one league, 25 down in another. Completely unacceptable!! lol I've tried a lot of "tricks", but I like the "humming during approach" idea. Think I'll try that tomorrow night. But I'm pretty sure, it's only gonna confirm what I already know. I'm muscling the heck out of it from the top, and have lost all consistency, and it seems like when I concentrate on "fixing" one thing, I screw up something else. I'm mentally whipped at this point.
Now, to figure out what "tune" to hum! lol

I am slumping bad this year too after a 4 year layoff. Just throwing the ball each frame and trying to make adjustments, etc. A lot of my problem is the mental game right now. It will come back around - just keep throwing the ball.
