Default New to the boards and bowling (kinda)

    Hi,
I just started bowling 8 weeks ago in a league because a friend urged me too (its a sanctioned league and its his team). Before that, I bowled maybe a handful of times as a kid, and then maybe on a date or two in college (lane balls, throwing as hard as I could to impress my date mostly haha). So technically I have thrown a bowling ball prior to me joining this league.

That said I've been making great strides since buying my own ball and learning how to hook it about 5 weeks ago, and while my game is a work in progress its night and day from week 1 to now. Looking forward to using this site to help me continue to steadily improve my game week after week!

Welcome to the forum. Read this book sooner than later: http://www.amazon.com/Winning-Bowlin.../dp/0809235269

And pay attention to who bowls good on your league - buy them a beer, ask them for advice and to watch you bowl to see what you are doing wrong / right, etc.

    That's how I did it.

    Good luck and good bowling.

Thanks, and actually the first night one of the members on the opposite team gave me a ton of advice - its a handicap league but he's a scratch bowler so he gave me a ton of free tips which was very cool.
