Default One or two things you would like to better with practice......

The two things I would like to get better in my game with practice are my slide and having the ball swing close to my sliding ankle. Sometimes my slide gives me trouble. It ends up going straight now and then instead of to the center of my body. I end up off balance at the release and have to fight to stay stable. The other thing is trying to keep the swing close to my sliding foot so I get good leverage on the ball. When I watch the YOUTUBE video of Analysis of Modern 10-pin Bowling Swing & Release I see the pros make their backswing and on the forward swing you can see that their arm seems to come closer to their side and because of that their ball swings under their head and close to their sliding ankle. Plus their hand stays inside of their ball until the release when their thumb comes out and the fingers come out last putting good revs on the ball. A fear you have to conquer is that of worrying about hitting your ankle with the ball going into your release area. So for me those are my two primary practice areas of my approach.

I'd like to pick up more attractive ladies at the alleys I bowl at. So far this season I'm completely striking out.

I'd like to get to the point where I'm very balanced at my release and my timing is consistent from shot to shot. Sometimes I feel the ball too far behind me when I'm ready to release and sometimes I'm ready to release and I'm too far away from the foul line.

And I think most importantly (other than the ladies issue) is figuring out heavier oil/synthetic lanes. Still a 33-pin difference between synthetics and wood lanes. I struggle trying to slow the ball down...release it low...release it earlier, etc.... Sometimes it feels like I'm just walking up there like a 6-year old and just dropping it...because if the speed hits 16mph...it's a straight ball, no hook.

First I would like to practice real time scenario on timing that I am bowling when the waitress comes with the next round of beers so I get out of paying. So far this season I am doing pretty good but not perfect so still room for improvement.

But srsly I have been working on the mental part of the game this year. Trying to bowl relaxed and focus on the next shot and not missed pins or bad throws. So far I think it has helped my game and overall mood tremendously. I tried one week to focus on my breathing during my approach but started bowling really bad so I felt it was counterproductive and just ignored it from then on out - seemed to help to not focus on it.
