I am going to start out this review by saying the Hy-Road Pearl looks better in other bowler’s hands then in my own. I do think it is important to understand that I have really don’t like many pearl balls at all. I have had a lot of success with the Fringe, and Lights Out, the IQ Tour Pearl even made my tournament bag. For the most part I have the most success with Solid balls. Please refer to my reviews of the Marvel S and the IQ tour to see how I feel about them.

One of the reasons I tend not to write my reviews near the release date is I like to get a chance to see how balls roll for other people besides myself. I like to get feedback from other bowlers also. I know in the past I haven’t had success with some pearl balls that other people loved. So I try to balance my feelings toward a ball with how much success others are having with it.

I am going to give the Hy-Road Pearl a medium rating even though I struggled with it because the ball has looked awesome in a number of others bowlers hands. Just this past Sunday, I watched a bowler in NEBA go from out of the cut to leading the Squad in one game once he switched to his HY-Road Pearl. He even suggested I bring mine the next day. I have also seen the ball look great in a number of other bowler’s hands. Those bowlers told me they really love the ball. Please take that for what it is worth.

I have drilled most of my pearls pin up, and I am going to start experimenting with some pin down layouts on pearls. I am going to plug and redrill my Hy-Road Pearl with the hopes that a different layout will make mine roll as good as the others out there. We will see what happens.

I did like the ball on the day I shot the video, but I just haven’t had the immediate success with it the few times I tried it in league or tournaments. The ball squirted too much for me, which surprised me after seeing and hearing others talk about the ball.

I guess the point I am making here is don’t count out this ball because of my review. Read other reviews and watch other bowlers before making a decision on the HY-Road Pearl. I have a pretty big suspicion I am in the minority here when it comes to this ball.

Thank you for the honest review. I went pin down as well on my HRP looking for good carry. I've had mixed results, wasn't working for me last night. Stuck with my First Blood pin up.

Please explain (or anyone) to a noob what "The ball squirted too much..." means.

    Thank You!!

Drilled mine pin up and it's pretty snappy and consistent.
