Saving balls.
Do you guys ever see an old ball on your racks at your local Alley and just want to take it?
Ive taken 4 old storms -Red Hot- -Ultra Hot- -Flame- -El-Nino Wrath- from my alleys since my sister is now the manager their. The alley I go to the owner will not put A dime into and will probably end up closing in a year or less. All the balls that are at the alley have been donate (people just puting their own on the rack) So ive been saving some old storms to collect and throw. Ive already re surfaced the ultra hot and el-nino wrath. To my surprise they still have alot of life left in them.
Does anyone have storys like this to share? or some balls you wish you had nabbed when you could have?
(The El-nino is compareable to my Anarchy if i had to say so, The skid flip is amazing)
Good for you for giving them a good new home I say! Yes I've seen some old balls that were donated and have a lot of life on them at the center I do some work at. I take them home, de-oil and resurface them and bring them back. The owner and I decide whether to plug/sell them, give it to one of our junior bowlers, or keep it. It's really just a weird desire I have to see them get good homes...

I don't think it's weird. I just found a great home for the 12lb Green and White DV8 Misfit I drilled after surgery thinking I wasn't going to be able to throw 14lbs. Luckily, I was able to go back to 14 so the Misfit is brand spanking new.Originally Posted by dnhoffman

The bowler's name is Chelsea. She's very sociable and was wanting me to watch every shot, so we were cheering her on. She's a pretty good bowler!
I brought the ball in last weekend to she if she might like it. She friggen loves it!! I had the pro shop plug it and she came in Tuesday to have it drilled. My ex-coworker Jesse and Chelsea called on speaker phone to tell me how much she likes the ball. Man, I had the biggest grin on my face!
Chelsea's bowling in Special Olympics Regionals tomorrow. We're going to root her and the other athletes on. If she does well tomorrow she competes in the Winter Games on December 14th!

It's not stealing if both the owner and the manager said it is okay. Plus alls you have to do is ask the manager if it would be okay if you were to take them. @Aslan

@dnhoffman I already gave my little cousin the red hot which he just tossed today and he is very pleased with it!
I just finished plugging a Rampage I found on the rack. I have a young lady from one of the high school teams coming over so I can drill it for her. I just gave the center 12 balls last week. I have been told if I see anything I want take it . Because they know I will fing a good home for it with either a high school or junior bowler. I charge them a minimal amount for plugging ( just civer my out of pocket expense for slug/grips) and give them the ball
That's very nice of you. Getting trained on plugging/cutting next week so I can volunteer helping juniors at my local house as well.

It's funny you mention that 'cause I did see a Black Beauty that reminded me of that ball at an alley. Never thought to ask if I could have it.
