Default Anyone here have a layout change that worked better for you?

I was wondering if anyone here had a ball plugged and a new layout put on it? And if you did was it better then the layout you had before having this done? Sometimes a surface change is just not enough. Sometimes a weaker or stronger layout gets you where you want to be. Did the change make your average better or worse? Did you get better action from the ball? I was thinking of a layout change for myself. Still in the thinking about it phase. For me it seems that a layout change will do more for me then a surface change. So what was your reaction to a layout change?

I did once, I had a Morich Labyrinth where the track bowtied right in the middle fingerhole and the balls reaction was very weak.

I couldn't change my release enough to move the bowtie point, so plugged it and changed the layout. Which moved the bowtie about a 1.5" away from the hole and I had lot better reaction from the ball.

i changed the layout on my old hammer hawg but had to do a 3rd drilling layout on it with alittle because the proshop drilled the pitch and length wrong i was not mad it was a accident but this was when i bowled with a half a thumb in the ball and about 2 months after getting it redrilled i got my 1st ever 300 game as a 2nd year bowler and being the youngest bowler in my home town to throw a 300 game at 16 years old.

    Default Putting in a PLUG!!

My last 300, a month ago, was with a plugged and redrilled virtual gravity nano pearl! I had the layout changed and drilled according to my bowling style and delivery! It made a huge difference! Also had that 780 along with the 300.

So yes,,, I am putting a plug, in for plugging balls, if it wasn't drilled correctly the first time!... or a used ball you purchased!
I have pictures of the ball up close if you go back and look at ( BREAKING NEWS: MICHAEL shoots his SECOND 300!! ) Its one of my go to
    balls since the change!!
