Actually one of them had sent an e-mail but I hadn't checked it before leaving for the center.

    Buddies Summer Challenge 2022 8/8/22 (Week 10)

    Pattern: Earl Anthony 43'

    Scores:
    Set 1: 160, 107
    Set 2: 137, 172

Just a very frustrating night. My opponent for the first set was AWOL, or rather AWOS (absent without sub). This league has a rather odd rule for bowling against a blind score or a vacancy. Instead of a blind score based on the missing person's average or one based on your own average you have to beat 172. I think falling 13 pins short that first game threw me into a funk for the rest of the set. The second set started with me sticking on the approach and then throwing very tentative shots for the next 4 frames.

    Buddies Summer Challenge 2022 8/29/22 (Week 13)

    Pattern:?

    Scores:
    Set 1: 188, 127
    Set 2: 148, 145

Don't know what happened to the scores for week 12. Very disappointed with how I bowled over the summer. I think I would have been better off just taking the summer off from the sport league. I did not sign up for the fall.

    Buddies Winter Challenge 22-23 10/17/22 Week 6

    Pattern: Junior Gold 47'

    Scores:149, 190, 182

I may not have signed up, I may have bowled like c*** all summer, but at least one of my friends is willing to let me sub for him

Pretty tough pattern to figure out. I tried a ball straight up 5 in practice and as expected it just barely touched the 3 pin. Next shot I moved my target and my feet two boards left and went through the nose. First frame of game one missed the head pin leaving the 1-2. moved my feet 3 right, hit my mark and missed the head pin to the right again At least I made enough spares to have decent scores the 2nd & 3rd games.

Buddies Winter Challenge. 11/28/22 week 11?

    Pattern: Junior Gold 40’

    Scores: 235, 160, 160

Got sort of a last minute call to sub. The actual call came from my friend Jim who was the missing bowler’s first choice, but had already said he would sub for someone else.

Buddies Winter Challenge week 19 1/23/23

    Pattern: Junior Gold something?

    Scores: 203, 173, 170, 546 series

First game was clean for the first nine frames then whiffed an easy one in the tenth. Second game I couldn’t quite find the right line on the pair we had moved to. Finally got a double in the 8th & 9th then left the 1-2-4-10 washout on the first ball of the tenth. Moving to lanes 41-42 for the last game I was able to find a line a bit faster. Was working on another double going into the tenth but got the ball outside too early and it went through the nose for a big split, 4-7-10 if I recall correctly.

Buddies Winter Challenge week 21 2/6/23

    Pattern: Junior Gold something?

    Scores:208, 193, 197, 598 series

For this half of the season the league manager is doing every week as a position week. 10 points are earned for every game you win from your opponent and twenty for total wood. you also earn one point for every score you beat in the rest of the field each game and for every series you beat. So there are lots of points available each week. The other weird thing is we're bowling 5 to a pair so the four bowlers at the bottom of the standing sheet are not bowling on the same pair as their opponent.
