Buddies Winter Challenge Week 21, 2/2/26

Pattern: Junior Gold Match Play (2025)

    Scores:
    161, 224, 163, 548 Total

I'm beginning to think I need to bowl a game before league. Right side spares were fine (except for the first 10 pin) left side I kept tugging and missing left. Meanwhile a sub bowling on our pair had the front 11 and the P.A. came on when he was a step or two into his approach. He could have stopped but didn't, ending in a 296. By the way, this sub used to be a regular in the league and has won several NEBA tournaments. Game two was solid. Game three started with another tug on a left side spare attempt followed by a split. After that it was pretty solid except I couldn't throw more than one strike at a time

I have thought this quite often. I'd recommend that you use Pinpal (or similar) to track your games and then figure out the averages over 0.5-1.0 season. You'll 'probably' find that the games are more similar than you thought. BUT....if you find that one of those games IS statistically different...then yeah. If I could raise my average by showing a practice game prior to league....I'd do it every night that I bowl.

People always say, "You get warm-up prior to leave." But, I don't know about everyone else...but when you get 8-10 minutes and you have 7-10 bowlers all throwing 2 shots...I'm lucky if I get to the line 4 times...much less get enough shots (thrown well) to tell me anything about the lane conditions.

Great 2nd game though! On a sport pattern no less...

It seemed that there were quite a few really good games, one of the guys had the front ten and finished with a 286
