finally, after two absences, two snow cancellations, and two school holidays where the league was "asked" not to bowl to allow for open bowling, back to the sport league!

    Beat your Coach Day

The youth league that I help coach had its "Beat Your Coach" day today. They were bowling on the 2003 ABC Nationals pattern. Each coach moved to a different pair after each game, so every child would have a chance to bowl head to head with a coach.

My scores were 149, 129, 154; all bowled left-handed to to a sore right wrist.

DV8 PBA Challenge league starts Monday. I will be bowling alternate weeks because of another commitment. A much younger friend will be bowling the weeks I'm not there. The wrist is almost back to normal, no pain but slightly less flexibility, no problems bowling four games at a time in my summer league.

p.s. This thread is open to any one bowling on sport or challenge conditions.

I'd blame the low scores on the new ball I was using, but the real problem was that I started thinking about technique instead of just accepting what I was doing and adjusting to it.

I'm supposed to be splitting the season with another bowler by bowling alternate weeks. I think that skipping a week hurt me as far as lining up on this pattern. What hurt even more was atrocious spare shooting. I think I only made three spares in the first two games. Worst of all was that my teammate didn't show last week.

On the bright side the scores went up each game, which set the pattern for the week. Wednesday, I got in a couple practice games, including one of Low Ball where I made 9 out of 10 ten pins right-handed and only missed 2 seven pins left-handed

    DV8 Challenge League
    10/5/15
    Pattern: Shark

    161, 156, 161, 151

Found out that the young bowler who said he would split the season with me is overwhelmed by a combination of work and going back to school, so I'm back to lining up a sub once a month.

Fourth game should have been my best game instead of my lowest. Was working on a strike going into the sixth threw it a bit wide for a five count, and fouled on the spare attempt. Next frame had a pocket 7-10. Ironically, this was the only game I won.

I actually did better on the Shark than on the Viper (to my surprise). Like most PBA sport patterns...a tough out of bounds on the right and little room for error...but a lot of hold in the middle to guide the ball into the pocket.

Bowled lefty due to a sore right elbow. One of those nights where something felt wrong on on most shots. Even when making strikes or spares, at least half felt more like luck than skill.
