Buddies Winter Challenge League week 27

    Pattern: 44’ NEBA Qualifier

    Scores: 176, 169, 220

The second game was on lanes 41-42 which hook much more than any of the other pairs. This week however there seemed to be much less friction to the outside than other weeks.

I hate it when it takes two and a half games to throw the ball right.

Did it take that long to throw it right, or did it take that long to figure out the shot? Big difference!

Good question Rob, and one would think it would be easy to answer. In hindsight I was rushing my deliveries trying to make spares the first two games. I did have a few strikes that felt right but I would guess in the first two games 15 of my strike attempts didn't feel right regardless of whether I was using the correct ball and line for the lane condition. The last game those percentages reversed. 75% felt good and only 25% felt off. The last six balls were strikes and five of those were both on target at the arrows and hit the pocket so it's possible that the good result influenced my perception of the delivery.

p.s. Out of the five of us crossing together, only the young two-hander shot over 200 the second game. The rest of us, including the owner of the pro-shop, were probably playing that pair wrong.

Buddies Winter Challenge League week 30

    Pattern:Mike Aulby 38'

    Scores:160, 154, 164

I did bowl week 29. Someone either turned the duplicate recaps in with the top sheet or they tossed all the copies before I could grab a copy of my scores. Total was probably similar to this week but more variation from game to game.

Buddies Winter Challenge League week 31

    Pattern: Del Ballard 34'

    Scores:179, 182, 176

Not great scores but all three above my average and a lot of the other bowlers were getting frustrated. If I can just get my mind and body to focus on all of my spares I should do well the next two weeks.

I also bowled a NEBA Tournament last weekend but missed the cut by about 130 pins. Finally figured where I should be playing the fifth and last game and shot a 211 that game.

The middle game was a case of every adjustment being just a little too much or not quite enough.
