    Default Does a layout determine where on the ball your PAP will be?

    If you put five different layouts on the same ball would the PAP end up in different locations on the ball? Let's say you release the ball consistently the same with each layout. Would the PAP be in the same spot?

    The PAP is determined from how you throw the ball. Rev rate, axis tilt, speed etc. So assuming consistent release PAP co-ordinates should not change. So the actual spot on the ball will change, but the measurements in relation to the centre of your grip should be the same.

    Yes the PAP would be in the same spot, the PAP is determined by how you throw the ball (your initial release).

    Yes the PAP is determined by how you throw the ball (your initial release).

    But The Rev Rate, Axis Tilt, Speed don't figure in determining it.

    Positive Axis Point (PAP):
    A bowler's Positive Axis Point (PAP) is a point on the surface of the ball that is the positive end point of the bowlers initial axis of rotation.
    The PAP is usually expressed as a pair of numbers, showing the PAP's offset from the Center of Grip, e.g. 4.5" over, 1.25" up, or 4 1/2" x 1 1/4" up.
    The first number represents the horizontal offset along the Grip Midline, while the second number represents the vertical offset along the Vertical Axis Line (VAL).
    The PAP is instrumental in laying out a bowling, as it serves as the point of origin for the layout.
