Smokey this is not 'Nam', this is bowling. There are rules. Proud two-time winner of a bowlingboards.com weekly ball give-away!
Well…if people would publish their USBC averages…we could compare and set up a suitable handicap (if necessary).
On my lanes, my average is currently 162. However, on any other lanes, my average is more in the 138 region. But I'd be open to the challenge. Just gotta figure out how to tape it to entertain all these fellas/ladies.
Mines a lowly 129 right now, but it went up 3 pins last week. Our league halfway point is next Friday, so I expect it to go up quite a bit in the second half of the season. It does change almost weekly, but usually only 1-2 pins at a time.
I do tend to bowl much better on the other lanes around me as well, however I don't record the scores unless I break an all time high score so I couldn't tell you what I average there.
My composite from last year is 186 I bowled two sanctioned leagues last year a THS and a PBA experience the THS was 196 and the PBA was 174. Currently this year I am averaging 193 at BA and 189 at Sheridan
I agree,,, something seems to be crazy! There are 3 posts, including one of mine that seems to many views per posts!
And not only that, but the numbers are climbing faster then the amount of people that have been on!
I have never seen posts climb this fast! It will probably be 100,000 by this week end!! and what is the post?
USBC is POO!!! LOL.... (no offense Aslan, but something weird is going on!! I have been on this site for a long time, and I have never seen anything like this at all. There are 3 that look out of sink!!! One is mine, and my 300,,, it has jumped up huge numbers! Can't be accurate!
Don't walk on Thin Ice!
I know that when I signed up I was immediately banned until I sent off a email asking why and I was told it was a precaution to ensure that I wasn't a bot. The numbers may be correct since it not everyone is going to send off an email asking why they were banned. I think those numbers are from nonmembers just lurking and checking out different threads that may sound interesting.
Another thing

There is almost 94000 members many who probably have never posted. There is also more guests on right now then members to support my theory mentioned above

Okay, best choice logistically is Temecula. It's a newer alley, smaller alley. It's "okay". I HAVE bowled there 2-3 times tops…and all I remember is that I didn't care for it much and my ball kept getting stuck. But, it IS probably halfway between us logistically and it's a nice place.
The next best choice is Surf Bowl in Oceanside. A better alley, bigger and more old school. But it's way more of a drive for me coming from north Orange County.
Given the average difference, I'd be willing to give you 10 pins per game…we'd roll a 3-game series. We'll flip for who gets to start and pick their lane to start on. IF you think 5 pins isn't enough…I'd be willing to give you 35 pins per game at my home center. But at a neutral lane…I'm only about 10 pins (if that) above your average.
The only question (besides are you up for it in Temecula)…is how the HECK do we video tape it?? I have an old video camera that takes 8mm tape. And I have a camera with a micro SD card. And an iPhone 4. But how can we film the whole thing?? I can edit the film using iMovie on my laptop…take out the bathroom breaks or the random times where I get shot down hitting on women…but how the hell do we tape that much material??
Any videographers out there with suggestions? I could tape it on 8mm and have it transferred. But for a simple little match like this…I aint paying $50 or whatever it'd cost to transfer video to DVD.
Worse comes to worse…we could do what I do now…and just decide on a certain frequency like "every 3 frames we video it and give a score update". But I don't want to hip Iceman and our fans!! They want to see us in all our GLORY!!
I can't do it the weekend of the Jan 25th…but first weekend of February or first weekend of March would work.
My average is where it's at due to health issues. Prior to the problem with my foot and loosing vision in my left eye I was 200+ for 20 years. 210-230 the last 10 and spent 7 years on the regional PBA midwest tour and averaged 200+ out there. Now days I bowl 6 games a week
I have been having that loss of vision in the left eye myself and it has been affecting me a little I have my second eye appt today last week It is alot better then it was last week but I can tell a noticeable drop off in sight. Im expecting to have to get some glasses
