Again…love the idea. Actually, I'm biased because I want any excuse to see E.A.R.L. throw the ball more often. They built the dang thing…ya never get to see them do anything with it!!
They have a bowling machine that I have seen used for bowling demo's! It VERY CONSISTANT, and accurate to a nat's ask!!
I will post a video of it for those of you that have never seen it! It can be programed to show TRUE ball performance using multiple styles, speeds, lofts, of bowling!
Their would be no fairer way to show TRUE ball performance minus the human factor! A good bowling Pro, can make up for a balls lack of performance in many ways!
So you want to see the difference between the Sync, and the Byte: Drill the balls the same way, and let the machine launch them!!
My main point was that Pro's can make any ball look GREAT! But a machine Can't! It will launch the ball at a specific speed, at a specific distance, at a specific rotation ect ect!!
To me the only way one can truly judge the performance of a ball would be to either have that machine, or Iceman throw the damn ball!!!

E.A.R.L. has more automated features than Harry and can throw the ball left-handed or right-handed. It can consistently duplicate shot after shot at ball speeds anywhere from 10-24 miles per hour and rev rates anywhere from 50-900 rpm, a significantly wider range than its predecessor.
Pairing the robot and the International Training and Research Center's computerize ball-tracking program, a computer and sensor system that precisely tracks bowling ball location and speed as it travels down a lane, gives USBC a key advantage in the sophisticated tracking and measurement of ball motion data.
The main goal of the ball motion studies, started in 2005, is to gather data about the complex dynamics and inner motion characteristics of today's high-tech bowling balls. USBC is testing to determine how balls with different properties and characteristics act together, then use this and other information obtained in working with bowling ball manufacturers and other industry leaders to set performance-based specifications for bowling balls used in USBC-certified competition.
E.A.R.L. was named by USBC Junior Gold youth bowler Melissa Stewart of Roswell, Ga. She figured if bowling great Earl Anthony's nickname was "The Machine," then it was only "fitting to name the new ball-throwing robot for a bowler with machine-like characteristics."

Bowlingball.com in my opinion has the best ball reviews out there. They always show a few different guys/styles throwing the ball. They always use the same pattern to show the difference in ball motion. That's actually a great idea but the don't have side by side comparisons in the video.
i agree bowlinball.com vids are good , but i do like when they overlay ball paths of different balls on some of the other review sites
Laneside reviews does some pretty good one, with a good selection of bowlers.
Right handed Stroker, high track ,about 13 degree axis tilt. PAP is located 5 9/16” over 1 3/4” up.Speed ave. about 14 mph at the pins. Medium rev’s.High Game 300, High series 798

laneside reviews are without a doubt the BEST!! For many reasons! Not just boring bowling shots, with pro's,,, but real people giving their un-expert opinions! Lots of dialogue about the balls,,, even old farts throwing the balls... they are my favorite ball demo group!
Don't walk on Thin Ice!
Lane side reviews? Never heard of them. I will have to check them out
