Tues Men's:
157, 161, 194 - 512 series (193.42 league avg):
Strikes: 34% (11/32)
Spares: 65% (13/20)
- Single Pin: 91% (11/12) - missed a 4 pin on the 2nd frame of game 1
- Multiple Pin: 25% (2/8)
Splits: 0% (0/5)
Well, you can't out-bowl a bad ball reaction no matter how hard you try. Was very stubborn about trying in games 1 & 2. Almost every shot was right on target but had no drive and left weak 10s or worse would skid out and leave a 2-10 split (had 4 of them). I am still dealing with my finger swelling and it doesn't fit well in the byte, but I managed to use it for game 3 and did a little bit better - hit my average at least and pulled out the 500.
Thurs Mixed:
192, 203, 165 - 560 series (188.32 league avg)
Strikes: 34% (11/32)
Spares: 75% (15/20)
- Single Pin: 100% (10/10)
- Multiple Pin: 50% (5/10)
Splits: 0% (0/3)
After a couple of frames realizing that my vivid still has no reaction and is finally dead (I've de-oiled, it lasted a month and performance really went off a cliff over the last 2 weeks), I didn't make the same mistake as Tues and used the byte. Game 1 we won by 2 pins, game 2 we would have won but I split in the 10th. My ball was getting hung up on my finger every so often which screwed up my release - a particular problem in game 3.
Single pin spares on both nights were great! Solved my plastic ball-ten pin issues for sure. I learned not to over-throw or think too much and just project at my mark with some speed. Has been working like magic. 7/7 on Tuesday and 6/6 on Thursday.
I have 2 weeks off for a vacation/honeymoon now, and when I come back I'll be getting a ball to replace the vivid. Looking at the IQ tour nano - nice solid with a familiar cover, and I want something symmetric. Plus everyone who's got one seems to really like it.
