Default What is IT ABOUT BOWLING that causes THIS TO HAPPEN!!

First game 193,,, (not happy with it, but nothing to be upset with, even if its a little below my average), Then a 247,,,(ok, Now I am going places, might get a 700 yet,,,, THEN After a first frame strike, the bottom falls out,, 143,, WHAT,, double W H A T!!!!)

The lowest game that my Ice Cold Brain can ever remember! I went through the usual moves, to the left! Went through all my balls including the DV8 Lemon Drop misfit!

series was not particularly bad, 193, 247, and ###, 583, BUT WHERE DID THAT One forty three come from!

Have you ever had a series where the third game bottom literally dropped out like that!!

This happened Thursday, and its taken up to now to even write about it!! I am medicated, and that helps, but WHY!!

Why was I not able to adjust to the conditions??? I thought I did all the right moves... " I need to go back to the freezer,,, Iceman is starting to get hot just thinking about it! Maybe if I do the deep freeze, a (cooler mind will prevail!!)

Reality set in LOL. All you can do is laugh it off and go on to the next league night. When you get in a situation like that the best thing to do is forget about trying to strike and just keep sparing and grind out a 190 something. This advice was given to me years ago by Dick Weber after going 259-279-143 ( bad pair) 173 (hangover from game 3 and 247 in game 5. I ended up missing a check by 4 pins and match play bt 30.

You're old. You will probably never bowl another good game. I'd quit if I were you. Might as well quit while you're ahead and save future embarrassment. I think it's time for more sedate activities like basket weaving or something.

Most likely carry down/ dead zone and a failure it adjust (or an over adjustment).

This is what separates guys who average 215-225 over 36 weeks from guys like me who average 195-205 over a whole season. Experience will remedy it but it doesn't happen over night.

Maybe you should just sit on the front porch in a rocking chair chewing tobacco and playing the banjo.

maybe I will, but its too cold at the present time. maybe to save money I will play my ovation guitar instead of a banjo.
I gave up chewing tobacco 7 years ago, ,,, , now that my life has no meaning, maybe I will take the habit up again.
Thanks for the advise tccstudent, have a nice day!

Default Iceman can feel the HATE

I am sorry for taking up bowling, and maybe I was too old when I got started! Maybe their should be a poll, like with Aslan,,,,, , as to wither I should even be allowed to be on this site of youth!

Yes, I am getting older by the day,,, and last Thursday was proof of that.... (

It's HELL getting old,,, thanks for all your kind words....

Bowling was good to me while it lasted!! in less then 3 years, two 300s and a 780! But maybe your all correct in your assessment of me.

I am not Iceman, JUST, Mike, a crummy bowler that's too old to be bowling!

Maybe its time to quit..... I will have to sleep on it.... (when you get old you sleep a lot) has something to do with getting old, and losing your ability to bowl!

Maybe its time to hang up the pins, and quit laying the balls down.....

Pity party for ICEMAN. All invited. Come one come all.

    BYOT

Seriously though ICEMAN, we have all been there. Nothing to do with age. Take it as a learning experience and move forward.
