Okay it was brought to my attention I'm the only on who thinks this is a pointless thread that's just flame bait. So I unlocked it so everyone who see's the point can continue the discussion.
Have fun.

What I said was "just because you think a discussion is pointless, doesn't mean others think it is as well." I never pin-pointed any specific thread.
The only thing I'd say about this thread is... Things never have been out of control. I don't think it warranted a lock.
Let's see we were talk about mike, locked thread and you said "I don't even go to that other site, so I wouldn't have a clue what he was referring to." that seems to specify a thread to me.
But okay you didn't specify a thread.
Nobody said anything about "out of control", sometimes you have try to stop things before they can get started. The only thing I'd say about this thread is... Things never have been out of control. I don't think it warranted a lock.
Oh and for the "Lay off the thread closing hammer for awhile... " you say that like I've been locking threads everyday. Well I haven't, I lock two threads I felt were designed to start something and that was my call.
But I listened to you and unlocked them to give Mikes threads a chance.
Just like I gave Aslan a chance and everyone voted they wanted him to stay so he stayed.

So anyways different bowling forums tend to appeal to a certain bowling group for certain reasons. For example the "technical" forum (you know which one I mean) tends to appeal to those who are really into the technical aspects of bowling ball designs and layouts. So what is the difference between this forum and the other forum that I have never been to?
Ball speed: 17 - 18.5 mph Rev rate: 400ish
PAP 6 1/8" over 1/4" up
13° axis tilt / 30°-60° axis rotation
Thumbless bowler
High game: 300 High series: 804 High average: 217
Really you should go and see for yourself http://www.bowlingintel.com
It was started by people who left here (who didn't like the direction the site was headed IMO) and a lot of people from here have went there.
It's not as technical as BC, but not as wide open and as put the word "POO" in the thread title as here.
They started a ball giveaway, they have Rob Mautner for technical info and some coaches, the forum software is up to date and seems to run okay.
It's more like how this site was when it first started (Not that anyone here besides me remembers when it was "BBAM" (Bowling Balls And More) or the early (after the name change) bowling boards when Kingpin ran it.)
As a sidenote: Mike said he was banned from the other site, but I looked as far as I can see he was either never banned or it was a temp. ban. (If he was using the Name Iceman) at least it doesn't show him as banned.

I post to both sites as they each have their own personality. The forum software there certainly works as it should. Can actually edit a post and actually be taken to the last post in thread when you want.

in defense of bbe, if a ball was SD you wanted it for like $15 shipped. Considering on avg, a ball costs $25 shipped, sellers would be losing money. The lowest ive seen a ball go for is the price of shipping that those are either spare balls or multi drills. At some point you have to stop blaming other people and look at yourself. You think its a coincidence that you always generate attention on any site you go to? If you reply to this Aslan, i request that you dont write an essay in reply.

I agree. That wasn't the case. I was looking for a certain ball for like $70-$72 shipped. Some guy chimed in that the price I was asking was way too low. I responded that it wasn't too low...that it was available on some sites for $89.95 shipped...but I didn't really "need" it so I was looking for a certain price point. Thats when I got comments like, "If you can't afford $19 then you should quit bowling" and I got another troll come in and say, "he's a problem on bowlingboards...so just ignore him."
The end result was the moderator stepped in and reminded the 3-4 trolls that there is a policy on For Sale/Wanted boards that you not comment on prices...if you don't like the price....don't buy it/sell it. It's that simple. So in other words, THEY were violating site/forum policy....I was not.
Agreed. Thats a good point. And thats my fault, I should have clarified that I have also been on numerous sites and forums where there haven't been any issues. I was just pointing a few examples of the bad things. Also...realize in the example above....and here at bowlingboards...I'm not violating any rules. So if I am not violating any policies/rules...and the people getting bent out of shape and "flaming" ARE...I guess I just don't see I am automatically the "bad guy". It seems like sometimes, on some sites, the site would rather have people that agree than have people that follow the rules...and that seems silly to me.
Granted.
