    Default Calous

Have a callous on inside of bottom right thumb as it causes gripping problem when releasing ball . Right handed bowler . What causes this and will it go away . When releasing ball it rubs on thumb hole . Thanks , Norm

It is caused by the friction created when clearing the ball. I have them on my thumb and fingers. They have been there for years.
If you are having to grip with your thumb you ball may not be fitted properly.

If it's at the base of the thumb about here

    These are the common causes.
Span Too Short or Too Long
    Hole Needs More Bevel
    Hole Too Big

If not check this guide for other areas

In a properly fitted ball you won't have a callous or skin peeling off etc.

I agree 100 percent! Iceman's thumb, and hands look great! I have NO, problems! I use the Vise system, and have about 6 different units I can use with various sizes and shapes.

I use two of them 99.9 percent of the time. The great thing in my opinion is that every one of my 15 balls has that same, correct, comfortable feel!!

I also agree, and have seen some crappy fits, resulting in finger/thumb problems! Some of them to hideous to even show on this web site!!

If your having problems, see a coach, or drilling pro! If that person can't help, you need to find ANOTHER ONE!!

I bowl 3 leagues now, and my hands look marvelous! You would swear that Icemans hands might belong to a male hand model!

Yes Take things into your OWN HANDS, and find a solution, no one should have to bowl with the heart break of callouses!!
