And he's already talking about who we can get for next year. Ive been approached by two other teams in this league to join their teams, but I think I'm going to bail on this league altogether after this season. It's just way out of control.
Do you think that if you was one a different team where you didnt have all the bull crap that maybe your attitude towards this league may be different

And, this is great...they are talking about not sanctioning next year, because too many of the bowlers have bowled 300's, and since they won't be able to earn anymore rings next year, they aren't going to contribute to the fund for others to get there's. No kidding. Now, we're told that we can sanction individually to get sanctioned averages for tourney's and such, but the league will not be sanctioned.
I expect many leagues may start doing this as sort of a protest towards the changes and a bowler may just individually sanction one league that they are bowling just to have a tourament average.

In regards to this part, if the league is not sanctioned. The average you establish in that league would be meaningless as a sanctioned average regardless if the bowler is sanctioned individually.

We have a little bit of drama here in there in leagues (with teams getting accused of different stuff from other rival teams), I've never had problems like you're describing though. I think I agree with your dad .
No doubt - if we got suspended for foul language we wouldn't have a league anymore. If you don't use foul language you are kicked off the league.

Man that sounds like it is time to cut ties with that league. I agree 1 night a week, go out, have some fun and drink a couple of ginger ales.

That's what I thought, but what the league pres is saying is different. Tourney's require a sanctioned league average, not a sanctioned bowlers average. If the league isn't sanctioned, nothing is regulated, the oil qty and pattern isn't "inspected", etc. I don't know how a tourney could accept an average from an unsanctioned league.

And as far as the foul language and other actions go, I'm no angel. I get it. Frustrations get out of control from time to time. For a long while, my youngest son though his first name was "Dammit". I get that. But when folks start referring to this as the "Tourette's Bowling League", people that complain, have a legitimate gripe. It's ridiculous.

We'll see how it goes tonight. But I'm pretty sure, I'm going to be telling them of my intentions to NOT return next season, especially if the league does not sanction.

    Thanks all for your input.

Me neither, but that's another one of those things that "I'm told" occurs. Not so much?

I believe the only thing that keeps the oil on the lanes is the bowlers complaining if there is not any. Our manger at least asks from time to time and is open to hear opinions. If he hears from more than 1 person there is a problem he will get the wicks changed on the oiler or something..

"Associations also perform random inspections of the oil applied to lanes in bowling centers to ensure that they meet USBC guidelines for oil application. Sometimes referred to as conditioner, lane oil protects the lane surface and affects the difficulty level of the sport. Lane oil inspections ensure playing field uniformity per USBC guidelines so that USBC league bowlers in Maine are competing on lanes in the same shape as bowlers in California."

It gets done I think yearly for all houses to be certified. Certified sport leagues are supposed to be done before and after the league each night. They used to have to do it on all honor scores too. I think they may still have to on a 900 series.
