Default This is well worth knowing, and is from our own Bowlversity!!

I look at many of the Pro bowlers, and think to myself, where could they be if they just followed the information listed below. Sure, many of the top names are GREAT bowlers in spite of being out of shape, and over weight! Fat is not in any way shape or form an advantage to bowling. But it will, and can shorten your life, and the quality of life!

I think many could benefit from the ideas, that bowlingball.com listed below... Hey,,, I work out 5 days a week! LOL
maybe that had a lot to do with my recent 300 games.... at 65. I use the local YMCA, and they have it all! Every kind of equipment you could imagine, steam, whirlpool, sana!

There is NOTHING more important then your health!! Spending money on a gym membership is money well spent!
It doesn't need to be a YMCA,,, there are gyms all over my area, many 24 hour gyms, at reasonable prices.

EAT RIGHT, good healthy food! Stay away from sugar as much as possible, use the healthy Stevia product instead.
Stay away for ALL ARTIFICAL sweeteners period!!! The independent science is out there now on both aspartame, and Splinda! Toxic! Don't drink fluoridated water period! fluoride is a poison used in all rat poisons, sometimes as much as 80 percent of the product!

I could go on about health and nutrition for pages!!! but enough,,,, Take a look at the info below, it just might make you a better bowler, along with keep you in great shape!

    1. Commit to being fit. Train for general health and for a better quality of life.

    2. Walk/jog six times per week at a good clip building for a minimum of 30 - 45 minutes time. Walk rapidly and smoothly, swinging your arms to help you breathe.

    3. Develop both sides of your body. When you develop any repetitive motion like swinging a bowling ball, it is important to strengthen the the opposite side of your body muscles accordingly. A well balanced and developed body will prevent back and hips injuries.

    4. Focus on your hands and wrists. Do exercises to strengthen the digits of your hands and your wrists to help your cause.

    5. Work on developing your body core. Strengthen your core muscles, especially your stomach muscles which also helps prevent lower back injuries.

    6. Fight becoming overweight. Watch your caloric intake and build a daily diet which helps you reduce if you are overweight or helps you maintain your weight if you are fit. Encouraging others aides your own personal commitment.

    7. Eat proper foods. The best technological advance in the next 50 years will likely be nutrition. Eat plenty of foods such as raw fruits, vegetables, nuts, whole-grain breads or pasta, avocado, and yogurt. ORGANIC as much as possible.

(stay away for all processed foods!! Empty calories, and full of nasty stuff that you don't want to know about!!!)

    8. Try and get yourself tired 10 minutes per day. Make the end of your workout routine a vigorous one whether you are walking a good distance, lifting weights, doing aerobic exercises, or walking up and down stairs. Try to trot when possible.

    9. Lift weights and do stretching exercises using common sense. You do not need to train as hard as athletes competing in rigorous sports. Push-ups, sit ups, leg lifts, stretching exercises are all useful for conditioning your body.

    10. Absorb energy from other people. Find high-energy and positive attitude people to spend time with so your levels of optimism rise. Doing activities with young people can sometimes make you rise to their level of performance.

Consult with a physical fitness training professional or with your own physician to help you identify exercises to help condition your body. There are many useful online sites which offer suggestions on proper nutrition and on physical fitness so it is recommended you do some research of your own to find the right formula to help you get in good shape and maintain acceptable levels of weight and fitness. Taking care of your mental and physical well-being lead to good bowling results.

When you have YOUR HEALTH, and feel GOOD,
    Good bowling will follow!

    1. Exercise
    2. Eat healthy
    3. Avoid Aslan

Who was the bowler who had a massive right arm that he built up for bowling? I still think that is hilarious and wrong - you have to be CENTERED. You can't just build arms, chest, legs, wrists, calfs, etc. Everything must be equally built or it doesn't work.

I was secretly pulling for Aslan too! But after reading #4,,,,, I was upset too!! NOW...... ZDawg..... I mean lets face it,,, if they put ZDawg, and Aslan scores together, they can't beat Iron MIKE WHITE!!

You know, I am and older gentleman, but was not around to see the Custer massacure,,,,, This will be as big an Epic!

I say to make it fair, this should be TWO contests,,,,, ZDawg, and Aslan!

And the second part of this challenge is: CAN IRON MIKE WHITE, beat both combined scores of ZDawg and Aslan??
This would truly be interesting to see!!!

Who ever the winner is, can then fly out here to Kansas City, and take on the team of Iceman, and Jason!!
An old broken down burnt up Iron worker, and a young pup, just getting into bowling Jason!

If you win Mike White, you could bring your buddy, Rob1!! IF YOU BEAT the magnificent pair of ZDawg, and Sand-Bagging Aslan!

Back to the original post. While I do agree fitness and health is important, I do believe that some of you tend to be a little harsh when it comes to the Pros fitness. I think like many sports figures, they are "conditioned" to perform. Perhaps they are somewhat overweight, but I would put their endurance and stamina up against any amateur any day. If you hang around one of the pro tourneys for the entire time (all days), you will notice what a grueling schedule they endure, as well as the physical and mental aspect of the actual bowling itself.

I would challenge the fact that there is not one Pro bowler that is not fit and "conditioned" to perform at the pro level of bowling. Other sports figures are just as "out of shape", (if you believe that statement), and have exceled in their sports...Babe Ruth, Fernando Valenzuela, William Perry, Shaq, and others too numerous to name.

Don't over estimate your talent Aslan!!! Mike is a warrior!! Do you know what warriors do,,,,, they hunt and destroy lions!!!

    Ok Mike gets just 100 pins,,, 50 from each of you ,,,,, he bowls a 200, that's a 300!

You two are scratch...... say you Aslan bowl a 160, and you buddy bowls a 140 ,,, that's 300!

sign here if you accept this two against one challenge: _X_____________________________________________

This looks pretty damn fair considering All 3 averages!!

    print you names here!
