Default Way to Flippy of a ball,, HELP

This was one of my Christmas presents! Its a ball I wanted to give a try, having never owned this brand. You can see the layout and balance hole. This ball has a huge flip Right at the End! WAY TOO MUCH TO MY LIKING

    So do I need to:

    1. have it plugged and redrilled?

    2. Can I put surface on the ball to tame the radical flip at the very end. ( my thought being to burn it up some before it gets to the flip stage?

    3. change the location of the balance hole? (that would be my choice, but can it tame the beast?)

It is drilled with the Tri-Grip, and would rather not (plug-redrill), but will if that's the only solution.
The ball takes a huge jump just before hitting the pocket!

    IMO
(what ball was that by the way)

First & simplest choice would be change surface, give it more surface which could smooth out the reaction some.

Next you could move the hole. That looks to be a P2 location now, so you could go to a P1(which is 6 ¾” from the PSA on the VAL) and weaken the reaction some.

third would be a combo of the two.

    Last redrill it.

Right handed Stroker, high track ,about 13 degree axis tilt. PAP is located 5 9/16” over 1 3/4” up.Speed ave. about 14 mph at the pins. Medium rev’s.High Game 300, High series 798

Sure seems like a candidate for a pin down re-drilling. Of course after you exhaust the options that Bowl so competently offered.

Before re-drilling, I would alter the surface first. Try taking the polish off the ball as a primary step. Yes this will make it react sooner but it will help bleed off some energy.

A fourth option would be to leave it as is and find the right condition for where it would be useful.

You have several balls already , this would just give you a option in case you run into a condition where the others are not working.

The Tribal is 2000 Grit Sand / Power Gel Polish OOB.

So, I had the same problem when I purchased my Hammer Jet Black a couple of years ago. I knocked the polish off with 4000 grit and it's much more controllable with same length. I know a couple of guys that took their's down to 2000 with the same result, but I don't have the speed that they do.

If you take it down to 2000, you may want to try moving a tad inside to get into some oil before it hits the dry, to get some length out of it. Also, removing the polish helps it not be so over-under if you get into carry down (bowling with or against straight ball bowlers)

You can do it in steps...hit it with rubbing compound first. If you still need more, take it to 4000, 3000 or 2000.

When you hit it with the 4000 or 3000, don't stay on the ball for too long. You want to keep the deeper scratches from the 2000. All you want to do is knock the polish off, and knock the tops off the surface texture created by the original 2000. Envision the 2000 surface texture lines, with 4000 grit 90 degrees to the 2000, but not to eliminate the texture lines from the 2000. Hopefully I'm making that clearer.

Yes but most of my balls are pin up (drilled to go long ,, store energy pearl balls), like the Tribal! The Tribal just seems to be The most flippy! Even more so then my Virtual Gravity nano drill almost identical! My IQ pearl is drilled very similar also. Need something different out of this ball...

I only have one ball drilled pin down, my one the DV8. It breaks early, and I only pull it out when the outside is burnt up. Then I move way left, and shoot 15 or 20 board.

I really want to use this WONDERFUL GIFT that my wife gave me for Christmas! I have pulled it out on numerous occasions and it just doesn't fit my style of bowling, on standard THS oil that I bowl on.

GREAT ADVISE from all of you, I will start with the less aggressive stuff first..... Heavy duty cycle in the washing machine with sand paper 4000 grit!

NO,,,, just kidding,,,, thanks guys for the suggestions, My goal is to make this special gift form my wonderful wife WORK!

Let us know how it works out. This ball has been on my radar since it's announcement. It overlaps a few balls that I already have, been none of those are as purty.

I'm also struggling to make my Cruel Intent work for me. I had my driller drill it the same as my old Wicked Siege, because I love that ball and it's movement. I told him to make the Cruel Intent do what the Wicked used to do. And all he did was copy the drill pattern. I'm thinking that wasn't such a good idea. Still hoping/trying though.
