Exclamation Rare escape from the Kingpin!!

I practiced last night and over 9 games....I didn't leave ONE single 5-pin!!!

This is a rather interesting feat since just under 15% of my single pin leaves have been 5-pins leading up to last night's practice.

I DID leave the 2-4-5 3/4 bucket 6 times...but other than that, the 5-pin was not left standing much...and thats rare for me.

The only hypothesis I have is that night I seemed to have a little more speed than usual AND was using my 16lb ball for 2/3 of the games. I think the increased momentum/force/pin carry tended to make sure that 5-pin went down. Hopefully it's a good development. Left a lot of single 6s, 7s, 4s, and 10s...but I was once told that leaving more and more single 10s (for a righty) and less of the other kinds of spares...actually is a sign that you're bowling better. The beter you get, the more single 10-pins you'll leave. And you also rarely see a pro leave a single 5-pin...so NOT leaving it is probably a good sign.

As long as the single pin you leave isn't the head pin, it's a good sign.

Leaving just the 5 pin (assuming you hit the 1-3, not the 1-2) is a better shot than leaving the 2-4-5.

Your ball should always hit the 5 pin when it is properly rolled champ ! Keep up the good work ! Spare percentage goes way up if it is all single pins.
