I'm back in the hunt. This month should be no issue. I just have to get ahold of Joe to bowl with in Ann Arbor.
The standings have been updated here.
I had to disqualify tccstudent's scores as well as Jeral999ok's because not only did I not receive the scores by 11:59PM on the last day of June; but I never received a valid scoresheet or pictures of monitors showing that they indeed bowled against each other, in person, per the instructions.
Since we are midway through the qualification stage; here is where we stand:
Should the championship round start today;
- There would be a play-in game between MWhite (5) and classy granny (5) (that would take place in the first 2 weeks of October) to determine who receives the 8th and final seed.
- The winner would face the top seed VDubtx (9).
- The #2 seed would be Stormed1 (9), #3 seed noeymc (8), #4 seed Aslan (8), #5 seed ZDawg (7), #6 seed Mudpuppy (6), and #7 seed Bunny (6).
- The points are in ( ). Ties decided by total scratch pin fall. All ties, once the seeds are finalized and the tournament begins are determined by scratch pin fall.
- The "wild card" or "back door" entries are not applicable. VDub has highest scratch pin fall (2026 pins) but is already the #1 seed. ZDawg has moved into top position in most improved average (+ 25.75) AND most games above average (8) but he is already the #5 seed.
- The next best in wild card standings are: tr33frog with 1917 pins, noeymc with a +23.08 average, and Bunny with 7 games above average.
Still have 3 more months left though, and even those with 0-2 points still have plenty of time to make a run and get in the championship tournament. GOOD LUCK!!

A couple of related questions.
1) how does tr33frog have 1917 scratch pins, when he hasn't even thrown a single game yet?
2) If VDubTX would happen to miss this month, would his scratch total still be 2026, or would you add his average (660+) to it?
3) If someone entered with a 240 average, and never bowl a game in the VBT would they be given the back door to the playoffs for Scratch Pin Fall?
I assume, to most people, Scratch Pin Fall means actual scores achieved.
agree with mike and alsan you should be above me unless my pin count for 6 games is better then yours with 9 other wise i would should #4 seed u #3

That "is" a concern. Unfortunately, we never addressed penalties for people not participating other than the -10 pin handicap. Personally, I never thought a person would sign up to participate and then not ever participate. It's probably not going to matter because VDUB (or you) will likely have the highest scratch pinfall at the end of the qualifying round. But yes, if tr33frog doesn't participate at all in the qualifying round...I don't think the executive committe would disagree that his scratch pinfall (only from his average) should be thrown out.
I would even go one further than that and say that any participant that does NOT participate the ENTIRE 6 months should not be able to enter via a "wild card" entry.

Maybe set a minimum number of games played to participate in the playoffs? Or a percentage? Like you must participate in 60% of the rounds (months, whatever), otherwise you're ineligible for the playoffs....something like that.
Company League Average: 198.1
City League Average: 186.5
WTBA Sport pattern League Average: 172.9
Current Arsenal: Roto Grip Nomad Pearl, Wrecker, and Hyper Cell; Track 920A and 505A; Storm Tropical Breeze; Plastic Spare Ball

We can't do that because it was decided to keep the registration open through August right up until the last month of qualifying. But I think there SHOULD be some minimum participation rate to get in via the "wild cards" or "backdoors" (as Mike and I refer to them). If a person wants to start in August...and gets 8 points in August/September...I have no problem with them slipping into the finals. But if they don't play at all and have the highest scratch pinfall (only due to their average) or they play only in August but have a HUGE night and end up with most improved average....they should NOT be able to "sneak in" and get the final seed.
Executive council?? Would you like to weigh in on this?
