Yeah...pet peeve #304....why doesn't the USBC actually DO something with that robot!?? They HAVE it...but like 3x a year they actually turn it on. I'd LOVE for the USBC to use the robot to do something like this...but they don't. So that leaves it up to amateurs like me to try to fill in the gaps.

I find it humorous that Mudpuppy has as many issues with MWhite as MWhite does with RobM.

Greatest Tournament Idea/Relaity Television Show Idea ever!???

Okay, it's like MTV "The Real World"...except it's Iceman, BillF, RobM, MWhite, and Mudpuppy. Itll be very bowling oriented...but the real excitement will be the endless arguements. It'll make Real Housewives of (insert city) look like a lovefest!!!

Come ON CBS!! Anything is better than Mike and Molly!!

I'm just having fun with it. Trying to get Mike to lighten up a bit. Life's too short to bowl on bad conditions and get beat by Aslan.

See, there is where my difference of opinion is. What are "bad conditions"? I don't think there is such a thing. I think you bowl in whatever conditions are presented to you. Granted, I wouldn't extend that to a "miature golf" style of bowling like the silly PBA obstacle course. But on the lanes I have thus far defeated said MWhite...neither were particularly "unfair". They were just not optimum to match up to his bowling style.

I think 2 of the AMF houses near me are HORRIBLE to bowl on....and I thought the lanes in Vegas were rediculous. But they weren't "bad conditions". They were just "bad" for me because I have too much speed and not enough revs to see movement on heavy oil. MW wants to claim that there was something completely out of whack with the universe on both occasions of his defeat...but it just aint so.

The bottom line is his style is rev dependent and more lane dependent than mine. So slight changes in lane conditions will drastically affect him where as I may not notice them as much. I've noticed this personally as I've transitioned from a high-speed tweener to a low speed stroker. When I lofted it 12-15 feet...20mph...it really didn't matter how the first 40ft of the lane were oiled/not oiled. Now that I'm laying it down sooner...lane changes/oil patterns are more impactful on my shot. I'm hitting my mark (within 1-3 boards) VERY consistently now...yet I'm seeing the ball hit anywhere from center of the headpin to just missing the headpin to the right. Suddenly the lane conditions and oil movement is "coming into play" where as before it just didn't.

My completely unprofessional and far lower than bronze level coaching certification opinion on MWhite's game is...he has an excellent release and understanding of "balling down" and utilizing his "arsenal"...BUT...he seems either unable (possibly injury related) and/or unwilling to change "non-ball related" parts of his game to adapt to unfavorable lane conditions. He does great at moving laterally and getting different angles into the pocket (definitely can play inside FAR better than I can)...but when it comes time to change speeds or loft to adapt to the lanes...thats where he struggles.

Case in point...we have a sub on our league team. He bowls mostly in a heavy oil synthetic house and came over to sub for us on wood lanes a couple weeks ago. In Game 1, I "barely" beat him like 190-184. In Game 2 he threw a near perfect game in the 260s then in game 3 he was in the 240s. He commented that Game 1 he had to get a feel for the wood lanes, but by the end of Game 1 he knew how much speed he had to add to his shot to compensate. So, the point is, good bowlers learn to compensate and adjust to adverse conditions. That guy is a 192 average bowler just like MWhite. Personally I think MWhite is better in terms of overall talent...but this guy is more able to adjust to lane conditions.

Thats my attempt at being Randy Peterson and giving the "color commentary"...I'm sure MWhite would have different opinions. But I AM looking forward to a Mudpuppy/MWhite challenge...if we could ever get them in the same place. THAT would be worth paying $70 to watch on xtraframe!!!

And in Mike's defense...how would YOU feel if you lost scratch (badly) to Aslan?? I am considered by most on this forum to be the single worst bowler to ever exist...and thats only by those willing to call be a "bowler"...so...yeah...cut him some slack...

You ever see Joe Dirt? It's like the mafia janitor - you are saying it all wrong. I don't have a problem with MWhite - just his approach. It's 180 degrees off. But since you asked I will cut him some slack and move on to other things to entertain my pea sized cranium. Speaking of which I came in late to work today so I am going to leave early, pick up the kids, let them do their free bowling (kidsbowlfree.com - free bowling all summer 2 games per day), have some fun and do my VBT bowling. Whether I have a 400 series or a 900 series I'm going to have some fun with it.

Well, you better bring your A game. I think you're giving ZDawg 51 pins per game handicap after that blistering month 1 performance.

Maybe you could bowl at the earthquake museum in Anchorage to make it a little more interesting - pot holes & debris on the lanes and the whole time the whole lane is shaking with the 3.1 magnitude quake. Maybe a guest appearance by the bowler who spray cans all over the lanes but still manages to defeat the great one - the wayne gretzky of bowling.

Thanks. I won't change but I also don't want to hurt anyone feelings, too much anyways. The funniest moment of this whole thing was when Aslan was explaining the internet to me. I was on the internet before the internet. I have been an electronic terror of sorts since the days of the 300 baud modem. Most people who meet me first on the internet on forums, etc. who meet me in person are in total disbelief that my electronic personality is really me. I'm a totally different person all together in real life. The thing about the internet is you can expose your mind a little bit more than you can in person. The same thoughts are there you just don't express them the same or even at all.

Ultimately my point in all of this is I know how I bowl. I am good with it. I get advice from certain people on my leagues and of course my pro shop guy. That's all I feel I need. I know I am inconsistent and I know why - I don't bowl enough to be consistent. But I really don't have the time and I really don't need to go any further with my game. In the fall / winter I bowl 1-2 times a week. I feel I do fairly well for the amount I bowl and the effort I put into it. It kind of goes with my life philosophy - I don't want to be great at anything - I want to be good at everything I do and I want to do as much as possible. So I have fun bowling, hunting, with photography, riding motorcycles, playing sports, with my kids, brewing beer, cooking / smoking / grilling food. My goal at everything is to have fun with it. And for the most part I do.

A game it was not. Full report in the VBT thread. I couldn't remember who I bowled so thanks for the reminder. I may have given Z Dawg a gift this month.
