    Friday night league

We bowled two weeks tonight alley is closed next Friday.

Started off well was trying to start my swing on the second step and not raise the ball worked really well the first game actually felt like the fall was in front of me but then my timing seemed to get messed up and it went down hill.

223-139-159 I threw lots of strikes but couldn't seem to make my spares at all partly due to the fact the lanes were hooking more partly due to me. They have fixed one of the ac units so it was only hot not miserable tonight I don't know if that's why the ball seemed to hook more or if it was just me. The second and third game my timing went out and I started missing right and left even missed a couple of 5 pins for gods sake.

Second set of games I kept trying to start on the second step but I quit with adjusting my push out I think I'm going to need to fix one then work on the other. Shot 161-191-178. At least more consistent still threw more strikes than usual but the spare shooting was below par.

I could have bowled over 200 in any of the games besides the second of the first set if I had just made a reasonable amount of spares. I even missed ones I usually make tonight.

I wish waiting on my driller to come back in town he's been on vacation. That was some of the difficulty tonight. When I used the old blue hammer I could use it for everything well except 10 pins but this resin ball is not as smooth as that one was it's much more angular and I have a lot more issues shooting spares with it even the stuff on the left side it seems like I either over adjust or under with it.

I should have gotten the spare ball a while back but I was having car problems that cost a ton of money to fix so it had to wait but I should be able to get it as soon as he comes back into town.

Yeah i hear you, seems like there are always random costs coming up when you want that new ball. We need to get our priorities in order huh? HAHA... I was listening to walter ray being interviewed during the senior masters recently and he really bottomed lined spare shooting. He said someone asked him how he never seems to miss single pin spares. He told them the ball is 8 1/2 inches wide so you basically have a foot and !/2 down lane to hit. He told them, are telling me you can't hit that? A mental game to tell your self as your standing there was the point i think. Anyway, coming from him seemed like a good thought process! Good luck with your game man.

Yeah I've heard that before and it's correct unfortunately the old brain just gets in the way sometimes. Thanks for the good wishes

To be fair, WRW missed 3 single 10-pins in that tournament...so even the greatest isn't perfect.

    Friday night league

I bowled pretty well tonight 219-180-159

The first game was clean except I threw a bad shot at a 7 pin just pulled it. The asylum rolled great threw quite a few strikes I had no problem getting the ball to the right tonight and it had no problem coming back into the pocket. I've been working on not coming around with the elbow and it's working I really only threw two shots where I wasn't behind the ball.

Game two the asylum was still hitting great threw the first seven frames but I could tell my line was starting to break down I tried moving left but it really didn't seem to work I should have balled down here but I didn't threw two splits thus the 180.

Game three I switched to the euphoria had a hard time finding my line but I left makable spare wasn't high scoring but I still felt okay about this game as I picked up most of my spares except for the two splits I threw.

All in all I was happy with the way I bowled. I'm going to need to practice more with understanding how the euphoria and asylum work together. I haven't practiced enough since adding the asylum to get a real feel for how to switch because my lines are a lot different between the balls.

You get the same read with your asylum as i do. I love it starting out with my angles not real open but i can't move very far left with it and try to bank the dry. It just does not seem to be a ball to swing to much but if you can make parallel moves it works all night. Good ball though.
