Friday Win Lose or Draw league

Started the night in second place 1/2 game back. There are some really good bowlers in this league and I really wanted to win it or at least make the roll off.

Game 1- 192 threw the ball really well only two bad shots in this game unfortunately one of the was in the tenth frame missed a 10 pin or this won would have been 200+

Game 2- 196 again bowled well was clean until the 10th chopped a 6-10 been having some issues with that one here lately again would have been 200+ if not opening the tenth.

Game 3- 189 started off with the first two strikes threw a bad shot messed the release up left a bucket that I chopped threw the next three strikes but then kind of fell off I did make my spare in the tenth

I won all six points finished in first I will be in the roll off on Saturday. I will update and let everyone know how I did. All in all a good night bowling but it could have been better with a little better spare shooting. If I really want to consistently bowl with the better bowlers I'm going to have to kick it up a notch on the spares. Could have easily had 600+ series tonight if I had just made my easy spares.

I apologize for brining up a potentially sore subject but, I'm curious. Do you look down onto the approach when you line up? I've stepped up with my "booty" on a few times but I always catch it when I look down to line up. I hate to see anyone go down like that.

On a brighter note, congrats on making the roll-off. Bowl well!

No problem I posted it so others could ask question and have a laugh with me about it. I do look down at my feet when I line up. I really don't know how I missed them. I'm not a jump up and fire it kind of guy I generally take my time and even make sure I have my feet angled towards my mark. I guess I was oblivious too it. It could be that my shoes are black and blue the covers are blue and black may have had something to do with it.

Thanks I'm excited and looking forward to Saturday. These are my first two leagues after being away from the game for 20 years.

It's been a trip the wife and both kids have taken it up too were having a lot of fun. It has been interesting coming back lot of stuff has changed but it's still throwing the round thing where you intend. I was one of the better guys in my alley when I was a kid I still have a long way to go to get back there but I at least have it to where if I'm having a good night and the better guys are off a bit I can compete with them. Now just to get it where I can do it all the time.

    Monday family twosome league

I never seem to bowl very well in this league most of the teams pre bowl or tend not to show so it's just the two of us bowling and I don't do well that way. My average is 30 pins lower in this league than my other one.

Currently in first place I imagine we did well enough to win all of our games unless someone comes in and really light it up.
This is the last week for this league so we should have first

    167-168-129

That about says it all right there I didn't start out well finished worse. I'm struggling with my release at the moment for some reason. I throw one ball it's in the pocket perfect strike next ball I hook it across the lane next ball don't get anything on it weak or worse. Worst thing about it it's not just one problem I'm ending up cupped more on one than another then I over rotate one then I seem to lose my hand position under the ball it's just feeling different on every shot. It's not uncommon for me to have one of these problems on a few shots a night but the last six games I've bowled it been every other ball or worse. Not really sure what to do.

Hang in there. When you are having issues it is very important to just simplify everything and go back to basics. I know that is a common thing to say but it is true. Just focus on 1 swing thought like your push away or waiting on the ball at the bottom of the swing. When things are going bad for me i often find that i have all these thoughts in my head on the approach. If your release still feels inconsistent throw some shots trying not to do a whole lot with your hand and just focus on your mark. Good luck man it will come back around when you least expect it.

You are right it's just frustrating when you really feel like you've made progress and then boom here's something else. I had been rolling at least decent above average scores for about 2 weeks kinda felt like I had some stuff figured out hopefully I can figure it out quick I'm in a roll of Saturday for first in my other league and some decent money on the line

How's your timing looking through your release? Could be a really simple thing to try working on, as well.

I think that is part of the problem I am turning early and overturning on some shots which is causing the inconsistency.
