Default Free Bowling Class to teach Youth Bowlers

I just got a email on my phone about a seminar going on this Sunday where they teach you to instruct youth bowlers and I guess it can lead to Level I certification.

Sent by USA Bowling/Youth Sports/ITRC or something like that.

    Anyone else get this e-mail?

I think I may do it! I've been trying to teach my daughter to bowl and have been nearly unsuccessful...maybe this seminar will help.

    I mean, it's FREE right?!?

    USBC Coaching

For youth bowling coaches, volunteers or parents of children involved in the sport, USA Bowling will provide coaching seminars designed to teach basic bowling coaching skills

The seminars are free, are three hours in length and include on-lane and classroom instruction. The seminars are designed to teach volunteers the skills necessary to teach the fundamentals of bowling to youths.

    Read about it here:
    http://www.bowlingdigital.com/bowl/node/10877

The seminars also provide the opportunity to gain USBC Coaching Level I certification. After participants attend class, pass the test and are approved through the Registered Volunteer Program (RVP), they will receive USBC Level I certification.

Bowl1820 does a way better job of explaining stuff than I do. DOHT!!

Aw man...I can become a Level 1 instructor!!! ICEMAN!!! I'll provide ya some lessons when I'm out in the Missouri area!!

Instructors include Parker Bohn III!!!!! Holy POO!! One of my FAVORITES!! I better bring a camera and something to sign. It probably won't be him though. Probably Baker or Gaines. I think Bohn is from Florida or Texas.

This should be fun! And maybe, if it looks like something I could do successfully...maybe I can use it to try to get some youth into the sport. Offer up my services free off charge or something...work with the local school. The more youth we can bring in, the better off this sport is going to be!

I went to one of these a while back, at Fountain Bowl.

Was supposed to have Mark Baker there, but he couldn't make it, so Barry Asher presented it.
It was not run well. Effectively he read to us what was visible on the Power Point Slide Show.
And when he tried to play one of the videos, there was no audio.

Ultimately there was no information presented about how to obtain a level 1 without the cost.

Aslan, you might be able to pass the coaching test online, but the RVP will be the real test

***p. That may be a problem. You date ONE 15-year old and suddenly your whole life is ruined and you can't coach youth bowlers!

Most 15 year olds have bad judgement.

Or wait....were you asking because you'd like to know where they are? I can't assist you there my friend...that is something you'll just have to figure out for yourself.

Just remember: "15 could get you 30."
